What its like to be a Mom

What it's like to be a mom.

Bitter sweet are the moments as they grow.

From the moment of disbelief there is a life growing inside of you. Even though your life is completely changing you are imbued with fear it might not be strong enough to survive the journey.

You think once you hear the first sounds of their heart.
You will know peace
You think Once you see the first ultrasound..
you will know peace
You think Once you feel their first movements..
You will know peace

You think once the baby is here and labor is through..

you will know peace

You think.... once they look you in the eyes, make their first sounds say their first words, take their first steps..

you will know peace...

You pray "please don't let me know a hurt that would destroy me". And always send prayers and love to your sister who you know.. you know... the unmentionable things they have endured.


the times you get peace?

is when your baby is in your arms and holding you back and you know they don't see one shred of your fears for tomorrow.

and then.. you know tomorrow they are going to change again. and that peace slips away when you lay them in their bed.

Please love your momma this mother's day. The only peace she has.. is when she knows your alright.
