A Prophecy Against Babylon....This Scripture sounds like it has already started...

Babylon was destroyed and is no more. Now we have the city Mystery Babylon. People say it is America, but the bible says it is a city with 7 hills. The candidates are London, Jerusalem, Rome, and New York city. I don't know, but I am leaning towards Rome or London, because New York city has not killed the saints. Jerusalem is out because the bible makes it clear it is involved right up to the end.

Must have been since Isaiah wrote about it. Actually, I don't know.

If I may, Mystery Babylon is not so much a place as it is the System itself. The bankers, the military industrial complex, big pharma, Hollywood, etc. - these comprise Mystery Babylon.

The "nature of the beast" is to eat, mate and dominate, and is illustrated in the scene where Nebuchadnezzar became as a beast eating grass - and "all flesh is grass". This Babylon has been consuming & oppressing mankind, but its days are up. Their corruption is being exposed, and the love of money is being rooted out.

Jerusalem is absolutely complicit: In Matthew 23:35, Jesus charges Jerusalem with guilt of
"all the righteous blood shed on earth",
which ties in with Revelation 18:24's claim that within the Harlot was found
"the blood of prophets and of saints and of all who have been slain on the earth".
Also, as I mentioned on Susie's other recent thread, Revelation 11 equates Jerusalem to both Sodom & Egypt.

Good points! I quit trying to figure it out. Read so many different things, but still not sure. You could be right. I always thought it was interesting that London started with LON, whereas Babylon ended with it!

Actually The Day of The Lord comes after the Great Tribulation. We are still in the "birth pangs" of Matthew 24, Luke 21'

The Bible warns over and over not to put your faith in men. It says to repent, and put your faith in God. It's truly disturbing how many people here say they are christians, and yet truly worship Trump. As a christian, that trust should be in God, and only God. If God uses Trump, then great. If not, oh well. It shouldn't move us one way or another. Christians should only have their trust and faith in God, not man.

Christians should be doing some seriojs self examination right now, I know I am. Have we actually done what Jesus told us to do? Do we really take a lot of time out of our lives to help the poor, to help the widow and the fatherless, to visit those in jail or prison, or to help them when they get out? Is it a big part of our lives to help in our communities?

You know the old saying that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Time for some serious self examination by those of us professing to be christians. Are we really 'living' our christian faith in the way we were told to? Is it really part of our regular life to be a prominent helper to those who need us in our communities? Do we only give money to charities and certain causes, but never help in person and/or on a regular basis?

Just things to think about. Time is short, and honestly we are not guaranteed our next breath anyway. Time to really take a good long look at ourselves as individuals, and see if we are really what we proclaim to be.

To those who can honestly say that they do those things as part of their regular lives, then you know where you stand. For those of us who can't honestly say that, then it's time to repent and change the way we've been living our lives.

Even Jesus said it's better to be cold or hot, and not just lukewarm.
