That's a pretty good run.

Fuck 'em.

It wasn't the left or ANTI-AMERICAN. Their lack of safety and massive amounts of accidents started piling up. They've been cutting corners to reduce costs for the past 10 years because of all the litigation. They've been having a series of constant mechanical failures (More so than any other circus around the world) because of lack of maintenance and safety preparations which could have stopped a lot of world of hurt for the people working for them and the company.

Blame management and lawyers for this one.

An impressive timespan.
But like chipperfields circus, Gandys and the rest. I'm personally glad to see them go.
They had a terrible record of animal abuse. And there's no place for that anymore.

I go to a circus two or three times a year. And there are no animals. Just the amazing stunts what people can do.

That's what I find amazing about a circus. The death defying skills of a human who has trained him or herself to perform the impossible.

Celebrate the human spirit.
Not the breaking of an animal spirit.

Its just that it's beyond that. Massive litigation by every side. Then the rapidly declining ticket sales didn't help them either (Nobody goes to circuses anymore for entertainment). Next step is to declare bankruptcy and put an end to this finally because that's all you can do.

Nope, definitely the left's fault.

In this day of On Demand entertainment via internet and devices like Apple TV and Roku, the circus has been well on its way out for a while now. It's not like a music concert where you're listening to your favorite artists everyday, then decide you'd like to see them perform live.

People would go to the circus to see animals and acts that brought a unique quality to their life. When I was young, the main TV channels were playing Mary Tyler Moore and All in the Family. Loren Greene's New Wilderness and Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom were about the only animal show available outside of PBS / NatGeo. Now, there are whole channels devoted to the subject.

Yeah it's awesome. It's the circus reimagined.
Like Derren Browns Ghost Train.
But good.

The end of an era, for sure.

Don't miss the Ringling Museum in Sarasota -- it is fabulous!

Good....abusive evil behind the scenes like porn, child models and gymnastics.

They were known for rampant animal abuse and mistreatment.

You know whats funny? Cirque de solei people being magical lil things they are I used to thinkthey where actually magical beings from one of the inner earth heavenly realms and not quite human.. but you never knowmaybe its true.. iknow crazier things being true.. ;)

But it is sad to see the end of a way of life for many people.

The Elephants will remember this day long after most of us Humans will. And if it is death defying human stunts you seek.There are nitro circus and jackass.

The only thing that stays the same is the fact that everything changes.

Except foodstampers and welfare receipients. They remain on the drip.
