SMART PEOPLE!! I Need An Answer Please Help Reg: Space & Time :)
Saw this and thought my GLPeeps could help!

"I share with you an original thought. Please tell me if my logic is flawed. Not bickering. Really.
According to Einstein's equation, E=mc2, space and time are the same thing. They are known as space/time.
Space is expanding. As space expands, it is also accelerating.
So, if space and time are the same thing and space is accelerating, isn't time accelerating?
Tomorrow, I'm calling a professor of theoretical physics."

I can't answer it.

Actually, E=mc2 doesn't have much to do with space-time. What it says is that energy and mass are related. By using the calculation and the proper units of mass, speed, and energy you can predict how much energy would be created if a piece of matter was converted to energy.

The theory of relativity may address the space-time issue, but this equation does not.

Thank you!

Aside from the wrong equation, can you answer the other?

Wrong assumption = wrong conclusion.

Firstly, because the equation is not exactly that, and secondly because space and time ARE NOT THE SAME THING, what it means is that space is time-related.
How are they related?
It is related in the proportion that space can DISTORT time.

What the theory of relativity supposes is that the greater the speed, the slower the time passes in the object that moves.
For example, if you are traveling in space at the speed of Light, it probably only took a few seconds for you, but for people who stayed on the earth it may have been hundreds of years.

There's a lot of film that has this subject as its theme. The movie Planet of the Apes if I am not mistaken it treats of this.
In the first film the astronauts traveled at a much higher speed and when they returned to Earth it was dominated by the monkeys.

My opinion is that magnetism is the key to space and time. Once we can truly control magnetism we will unlock time travel and other dimensions. Even when the sun produces flares, that energy is controlled by magnetism. It controls where the light goes, and also controls objects of mass that can be affected with the flux lines.

My opinion

IF space and time are the same thing, and space is expanding, to me it would suggest that time would have the illusion of slowing as the fabric of time is stretching away from other parts of itself.

Let's say you have a 30 second video compressed to 128 frames per second, then you stretch the video out to 60 seconds long.

That makes the video take twice as long to complete, effectively slowing time in half.

If Electric Universe people are correct (and they are!) - time and space are just what commonsense tells you they are.............. and the world has been spectacularly mislead into creating a mountain of gobbledyegook non-sense.

Also there is Dewey Larsen's reciprocal system - the only fundamental is motion at the speed of light, set at unity (one), then space and time are only aspects of motion, they become inverse relations of one another.

Since we're "stuck" in time, any dilation or acceleration of time would go un-noticed.

You were close with your equation in a sense that it was Einstein who recognized that light travels the same for all observers.
If you are on a train going half the speed of light and shine a flashlight forward, the time dilation effect causes you to see the beam leaving no slower.

Space is 3 dimensional while time is 4. That means time depends on space, or more precisely on changing/alterating space. As 2 dimensional objects build up by 1 dimensional, and for a 3D space you would need several 2D frames, its logical that 4D structures can 'contain' 3D still pictures. As human perspective shows its linear and irreversible and we need a lot of 3D 'frames' to feel and call this as life. Our life is basicaly a string of 3 dimensional 'still pictures' which is probably only a small part of a higher dimensional structure.

In other words, if the whole universe would gone still, and no particle would move, there would be obviously no 'time object' to talk about.

I am a Traveler of both Space and Time.
What is the Question?? How??

You occupy a Space during the Time you are here.

In the mean time wait for Christ to be Revealed.

Luke10:22
All things are delivered to me of my Father, and no man
knoweth Who the Son is, but... the Father, and Who the Father is,
but.. the Son, and 'He' ...to Whom the Son will Reveal Him.
