Mandela effect, Precognition, or what?
Back in the year 2000, I was watching TV. CBS to be precise. In between their prime time shows there was a news update. The newsreader, who may have been Julie Chen, announced that Richard Hatch, the winner of "Survivor", had been arrested for child abuse or something along those lines.

So what's the big deal? Richard Hatch won the first season of Survivor and he's had a few run-ins with the law, especially the IRS.

Thing is... this news update aired about a week before the premiere of Survivor season 1. It must have been a major league screw up by CBS News to reveal the winner of a contest show on CBS entertainment.

I asked at least 2 or 3 dozen people if they had seen the news piece about Hatch winning. No one could recall having seen it.

The bar I frequented at the time started a pool. Everyone bet $5 on who they thought would win. I bet on Richard and ended up winning $145.

I have searched the web looking for confirmation that CBS News blew the outcome of Survivor season 1. No luck. It's as if it never happened.

My question to GLP is this: Was I living in a parallel universe when I saw the news update, and then magically shifted to this universe where no such update occurred? Did I drift off to sleep that night between shows and have precognitive dream? Did it really happen and I was the only person paying attention in America during the news update?

I know it seems trivial but this has been bothering me for 17 years.

This happened after Survivor season 1. The news item I saw aired before Survivor season 1 premiered in May 2000.

Thanks for trying.
