Anonymous Coward User ID: 34251940 United States 10/25/2017 04:39 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | *Canary Islands Face Volcanic Eruption And Tsunami Warning* Quoting: TheWiz111 After a year that has seen concern about potential voicano eruptions in Iceland, Italy and Bali, volcanologists on the Canary Islands have been asked to work out whether the island of La Palma is facing an imminent eruption. The experts have been asked to monitor activity on the island, which saw 400 tremors in 15 hours over the weekend, according to The Express. [link to www.independent.co.uk] I'm keeping a close eye on this. I'm on the east coast and would take the full brunt of a tsunami. Have already told the wife and kids to be ready to leave in a moments notice if necessary. From everything I've read, we'll have about a 4 hour window to get further inland before it hits the east coast. 12 hrs |

Im in southeast central fl right on the coast 10ft above sea level with no incline at all to the west theres a possibility where i live water hit the east coast and makes it all the way to the west coast. So dont feel bad. im heading to the top of a massive landfill off 95 south of me if it happens hoping the wave broke and doesnt make it to the top of said landfill or wash it completely away |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 71553493 United Kingdom 10/25/2017 04:51 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I notice that it's the MSM outlets that are pushing this mega tsunami doom scenario. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 71553493 I remember that La Palma had earthquake swarms a couple of years(?) ago and the same headlines were put out. Look up this group on FB. Asociación Canaria de Volcanología From the page: Every time something moves in the subsoil of the islands, we have to hold and sensational headlines like this. There is a scientific committee consisting of several teams working on the ground in LA Palma. No one has spoken of megaerupciones at the old summit and no one speculated as the news says between 13 and 15 October that this eruption, which only exists in the journalist's imagination, would cause tsunamis of 600 meters In Height, what is is a megadisparate. What was said was that there had been very deep magma intrusion and that that was not necessarily going to produce an eruption in the future. We are tired and fed up with sensational news that causes a serious deterioration in the image of the islands and an unjustified fear of locals and visitors. This time it has been rt, a Russian medium that writes and also airs in Spanish. |

Quoting: Anonymous Coward 72584795 That tsunami warning is ment for islanders on nearby islands. Not for you. lol Are you a super retard? Have you ever watched any simulations of what happens is la palma collapses into the see. Projected 500 meter megatsunami rougly 1500 feet will impact the entire eastern seaboard of the US at approx 500mph |

Since we are keeping track the vulcano has erupted 8 times. How many times do you think it produced a tsunami reaching US? You people really buy anything they show you in "simulations". |

By the time the tsunami hits the east coast of the US it will be 30-40 meters in height, 100-130 feet. Still enough to scour FL but it won't be a mega-tsunami. |
