How do I get into DAY TRADING? Serious question.

Please somebody point me in the right direction.

Move to Chicago. Buy a computer. Start by moving some stocks around on your computer. Buying some and selling some others until you have a good sized portfolio with about 100 different options going on. Then do the ole 'im a writer' thing and sit down at the Starbucks on Van Buren every day wearing a suit until someone is convinced you're a real day trader. They will invite you to lunch, and there you can exchange business cards and linked in profiles and then the big thing is they'll want you to walk over to the CBOT and do some real trading on the floor. Just by looking at the numbers flying around the room, you make your calls.

That's how you do it. Fake it 'til you make it.

Dress the part. Act the part. You are the part.

Actually, you may have a point. Thanks for your comment. I don't really want to get on the floor of the Stock Exchange to invest. I just want work from home for some extra cash... Well, unless I turn out to be really good at it.

I told my wife about Bitcoin when it hit the market and we had $1000 saved at the time. Long story short, I didn't invest and now I couldn't buy one BC if I wanted too. I was just going to buy a few, sit on it and sell at a higher price and walk away.

U dont have to do daily trading everyday to make yeah some money! U can trade around earnings reports, dividends, buyouts, and periods of vol.!

Actually Ameritrade has fees that are bad for day trading. A better choice would be Interactive Brokers. Their trading software (TWS) looks and handles like utter shit, tho. Use it to place orders only, not to do your research.

Are you glutton for punishment? Small retail traders are eaten alive by the big boys and their insider trading algorithms. Stay away. Seriously. It's a casino and the House always wins. You don't know what you're doing.

You can also use Trading View, it has good charts and you can test your strategy with fake $$ and learn mistakes you may make. The thing is you are going to lose $$ at first most likely. It is a steep learning curve to make real $$ i use Robinhood cause it is free no bullshit. You need 25k to really day trade. if you dont have that kind of capital you can swing trade which is what i do. i never long term invest. i play it like a game but the losses can be real if you get stubborn and cant admit to yourself when your wrong. I havent been trading in months because i dont feel the market is reacting normally.

Day trading on a phone app, now that's fucking hilarious. Hang in there bud, I'm sure someone on GLP will come along and tell you everything you need to know about "Day Trading". That way you wouldn't have to do any real research and you can just dive right into a bull market and start making the easy money, just like you've always dreamed of. How much cash are you willing to lose, before you would quit and give up?

I assume you are talking about day trading cryptos? Not Stocks and commodities?

You have to be able to calculate quickly in your head or have some kind of horse sense that is un-deterable in order to day trade.

You have to basically be emotionless when it comes to your money. Hah. Most people aren't.

Difference between daytrading and Vegas:

Vegas has better odds and free drinks.

If you're a vet find brokers that don't charge for trades.

There are a couple brokerage sites that have tools and such. Trade station and options express are 2 that I've used. There might be better. Good luck

DON'T DO IT. I've been trading for 25 years, prefer swing and short term trading strategies. I use equities, ETFs and both simple and complex option strategies. I find it difficult at best....I don't daytrade except on very rare occasions with marked change in volatility. Recommend you don't try daytrading and your account will be happy. Short term low maintenance trades are more user friendly to your longevity.
