How about some heat tips
Take you're dryer hose out of the wall, fill hole in wall, point hose going in the house. This also gives you some moisture in the air.

Take a 2 inch deep metal tray about 4 inches wide, put 3 or 4 votive candles in it. Place clay pot over the candles after lighting them. Heats pot up and in turn heats a small area about 10 x 10.

Tea lights lit under small terracotta pots work surprisingly well when used in a confined area.

When Sandy blew up the north east I had about a dozen pots on hand and it kept my living room and dining rooms quite comfortable.

Re: How about some heat tips
To save money or get more heat?

A fire in the fireplace sends more warm air out the chimney than heat into the house.

Humidity makes the air feel warmer.

Too much humidity and watch for mold on outside walls between furniture and wall-- leave 6" or more.

Slow cooking bone broth -- get nice soup and warm the kitchen.

Dress in layers-- keep blankets near couch for watching tv or reading...

Close off rooms and turn down heat in rooms you are not using.

Make sure there are storms on every window and they are in place (if you have triple tracks) or double pane windows.

Block cold air from coming in under doors with towels or tubes made for that purpose.

Shrink seal windows that don't have storms.

Ceiling fans on low can circulate the warm air back down.

Lower heat for when you are not home or are asleep.

The dryer idea is good, but you have to clean out the lint several times per load. An old stocking tied around the hose will do or buy a product designed for this purpose.

Invite friends over-- body heat-- enough people and your house will be toasty warm.

Re: How about some heat tips
Your body expends a lot of energy trying to keep your urine warm. Make sure you keep your bladder empty so the energy can go to keeping YOU warm, rather than your urine.

You lose a lot of heat through the top of your head. Wearing a cap will help you to hold in that heat.

If your feet are cold, the rest of your body will never get warm. Make sure to get your feet warm first.

Moving around, rather than sitting will help generate heat and keep you warm.

I quit the furnace and use the little 15$ ceramic heaters from walmart. I rarely have to turn them any higher than 1/2 way on low. Its cut my heat bill in half and I am way warmer than I was with the furnace.

When the one great scorer comes to write against your name, he writes not that you won or lost but how you played the game.

The stance and stare of a wolf you find yourself alone with will tell you that he is prepared to treat you as you would treat him. Whether that comforts or frightens you, he has told you all you need know about both.

23000 BTU kerosene heater! I have been using them since 84
no worries! I never had any CO readings on my detectors. My main heater runs 14 hours on high and puts out a lot of heat! I have even cooked on it during a power outage.

I light it and shut it off outside and carefully wheel around when lit. Keep the wick clean and that is as simple as letting run completely out of fuel about every 4 or 5 tanks the wick will self clean doing this! Refuel and wait about an hour and you are good to go!

In emergencies , like when the power is out because some dimwit decided to text and drive thus taking out the power poles , creating a cascade effect that lasts for better than a day, we resort to the 15,000 BTU/hr; 9,000 BTU/hr, Gas Tank Top Heater: Radiant Infrared, Propane.

I assume you are referring to an electric dryer!!! A gas dryer would exhaust dangerous carbone monoxide into the home which could be deadly!!!

Dryer....

No. I tried that, thinking I was super smart.

It put so much dust and lint into the air, the mesothelioma was setting in quick.
