People wouldn't need to bother posting to facebook, the AI could do this for them lol "The world will soon wake up to the reality that everyone is broke and can collect nothing from the bankrupt, who are owed unlimited amounts by the insolvent, who are attempting to make late payments on a bank holiday in the wrong country, with an unacceptable currency, against defaulted collateral, of which nobody is sure who holds title." Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity. The woman who is not pursued sets up the doctrine that pursuit is offensive to her sex, and wants to make it a felony. No genuinely attractive woman has any such desire. - H.L. Mencken, In Defense Of Women |

It's funny how in just a few decades (after 9/11) the people have accepted the loss of privacy in public places with almost no complaints. Whereas before just having security cameras sprinkled around the city caused complaints, but today it's nothing. These cameras are now feeding footage to fully automated facial recognition systems, nobody expects their phonecalls to be private (hell, even your facebook app is eavesdropping on your calls to place ads), and black boxes with GPS tracking are making their way into our cars. Oversight of all this surveillance activity is lagging way behind, because the public is apathetic towards it and it's not in the interest of the watchers themselves. It finally occurred to me the other day, all of the people on my facebook are the people I've bullshitted my entire life. "Yes, things are fine." "No, you didn't just see that." "Oh, that, that was exactly what your mind can handle it being." I'm pretty sure an AI would do just fine. I don't know what lies they told you, but I can promise they were lies. There's a fine line between training, trauma, and torture. |

The majority of people is comatoid, that´s the most difficult part. They´d rather shit on their own foax for small things. Earlier generations of humans were "bulldozed over" for a reason by the TPTB. We might be approaching another one of those crossroads. Last Edited by Useless Cookie Eater on 01/23/2018 07:22 AM |

I think you would enjoy Arthur C Clarkes "City and the Stars" Look it up mate It is about the only remaining city on earth called Diasper ... In Diaspar, the entire city is run by the Central Computer. Not only is the city repaired by machines, but the people themselves are created by the machines as well. The computer creates bodies for the people of Diaspar to live in and stores their minds in its memory at the end of their lives. At any time, only a small number of these people are actually living in Diaspar; the rest are retained in the computer's memory banks. "All the currently existent people of Diaspar have had past "lives" within Diaspar except one person—Alvin, the main character of this story. He is one of only a very small number of "Uniques", different from everybody else in Diaspar, not only because he does not have any past lives to remember, but because instead of fearing the outside, he feels compelled to leave. Alvin has just come to the age where he is considered grown up, and is putting all his energies into trying to find a way out. Eventually, a character called Khedron the Jester helps Alvin use the central computer to find a way out of the city of Diaspar. This involves the discovery that in the remote past, Diaspar was linked to other cities by an underground transport system. This system still exists although its terminal was covered over and sealed with only a secret entrance left." Yeah wiki but meh ... I've read all the books by Arthur C Clarke, including that one. :) Funny how the reality seems to imitate science fiction. We may not have flying cars, but a lot of new wave science fiction (90s cyberpunk, in particular) is becoming real. Not just the tech, but societal impact, too. Transnational megacorporations with a turnover larger than that of most nation states. Companies having private armies (ok, well, the East India Company did it first) and huge political influence. Increasingly stark division of the world into haves and have nots. Last Edited by Dr. Moran on 01/25/2018 03:05 AM Steaks are high Tomato plants are in Family is shaved It has begined |
