It was sarcasm...

On the NASA page that was linked to, it had a depiction of the Earth, and who could be able to see it and who wouldn't.

Not everyone on the planet can see this eclipse. And some can only see part of it...

Time for me to go back outside and see if the 11 o clock position shows any emerging (non-shadow) light yet.

It is the first Blue Moon Blood Moon visible from the U.S. since 1866!

Just in time for me to watch the sunrise. A bit chilly - 25 degrees F.

I can't wait. Anyone else? Any camera tips, besides getting the camera temperature acclimated?

Probably explains why the fatman lost it today.

It was quite epic.

And what was happening in 1866?
It was the end of the civil war. The beginning of reconstruction.
I’m not sure what that means for us but it probably means something.

Absolutely. On the astrological side, I'll ask the wife to run the dates. She's a bit of an astrology nut.

Why isn’t the light returning on the west side not the east?

Where I'm at, the light is returning on the left side, between 9 and 10 o clock, due to the 2 factors: the earth's rotation and then also that orbiting of the moon moving around the Earth. So obviously there's no certainty that the light will return exactly OPPOSITE from where it was last seen on the face. depending upon where you are viewing all this from on the globe.

The eclipse started to shadow (here) at 11:30 o'clock, and started to lighten again at 9:30.

Each entry-exit varies, depending on location.

It's weird for me to think I'll be 55 the next time this happens in 2037.
