"First of all, the presence of cocaine and fentanyl in a toxicology report for an overdose death does not necessarily mean that the drugs were used at the same time. This is the simplest — and, experts told me, most plausible — explanation for why drug overdose deaths involving both cocaine and synthetic opioids have gone up: As more people use illicit opioids, a certain segment of this growing population is going to add cocaine to the mix for a bigger kick or use cocaine on the side, and that will lead to more overdose deaths in which both drugs are detected in toxicology reports.

A complicating factor is that people often don’t know they’re using fentanyl instead of heroin.

Over the past few years, drug dealers have increasingly sold fentanyl under the guise of heroin. They have a profit motive to do that: Fentanyl is generally cheaper and it’s far more potent, so a seller can make more money for lower amounts of the drug. Because it’s an opioid, there’s a chance the buyer won’t notice it’s not actually heroin — they may think it’s just an extra-potent version of the drug.

But fentanyl — and particularly its analogs, such as carfentanil — is much more potent than heroin, so it also carries a higher overdose risk. This risk is even higher if a user doesn’t know that the “heroin” is actually fentanyl; if someone tries to use the same amount of powder they would use if it were heroin, for example, that might end up being a much, much stronger dose of fentanyl or one of its analogs."

It is far more likely that someone is using cocaine and heroin themselves

rather than fentanyl being mixed into cocaine.

My over emotions prompted me to a suicide attempt when I was a teenager. I would do anything to keep my alertness and be less sensitive.

I had to cut out opiods too, cold turkey even though Im aging now with joint problems. That stuff is addicting, it makes you feel like you are post orgasm, floating on a fluffy soft cloud.

not advice, but I heard on medical articles that tylenol numbed some emotions as well as physical pain. I take tylenol now and then for my joints, cant say for certainty if my emotions are more under control or if its just aging process but tylenol is bad for the liver and not good for you at all. I only take it when my joint pain is out of control or if I get a migraine

Govt is looking into it and seeing if they can make a form of acetominophen without liver damaging properties so they can help soldiers and PTSD, I want to quit tylenol too cause I dont want to hurt my liver Im looking into natural herbs remedies.

And for some it might be easier to say that it was accidentally cocaine

rather than admitting the person was doing a lot more than just cocaine...

The young people I know that can avoid drugs are video game addicts. They get their high from whatever they accomplish in video gaming. Its a addiction in itself but it keeps a lot of people away from harder stuff cause they want to keep their reflexes intact.

A lot use marijuana though while gaming. Marijuana needs to be legalized everywhere , its going to help fight off the chemical poisons.

In the early days it was pioneering that kept people driven and going. No time for video games or drugs. Everyone was in a rush to build up their own business or settle in new towns or cities. Weve reached a point of apathy were people lack direction, physically spiritually and morally.

Back in the day... there was rumor that weed was getting laced with PCP, an animal tranquilizer that can make you do things similar to 'bath salts'i.e., run naked, cannibalize the homeless in broad daylight, etc.

I've also heard when buying blotter acid you better make damn sure of the strength, because it could be X or 10 times X and there was no way to tell just by looking at it.

You can snort heroin

I have a better idea than just legalizing drugs. Drugs lead to a whole host of psychological and physical problems. Why don't we give free health insurance to people that take care of themselves? Such as if have a mental illness take part in weekly group or individual therapy. It people maintain a healthy weight, work out, belong to a gym membership or use a fit bit to track their weekly goals. I am even for drug and alcohol tested regularly, if it means free healthcare?

If you drink heavily or want to do drugs of your choice, that is fine. We as a society are not sending you to prison for it. But, the state is not going to give you free healthcare anymore. You get a chance at one free outpatient substance abuse program and or up to one inpatient 45-day drug and one-year substance abuse program max, under the free health insurance plan. But once deemed a substance abuser you pay in tier response to your addiction to health care for the rest of your life since addictive habits can come back anytime in the lifelong recovery process.

Thanks for that info my friend, but like I said there were no traces of heroin, unless he thought he was buying heroin and it was really fentanyl...which I find hard to believe....as far as I know he never did heroin and he tells me most everything....it is a well known fact that here in BC cocaine is being cut with fentanyl...

It's actually way cheaper than heroin. You can buy a gram of fentanyl for about 40 or 50 bucks. I'm Guessing it's so cheap because it's man made in black market labs and you don't have to wait to grow and cultivate like u do with heroin
