Guess if the Cascadia slips and none of the west coast volcanoes pop-off, then maybe the pressure would transfer far enough over to get things rolling at Yellowstone. Indiana sucks....Don't move here. |

Quoting: WaistBandWiener From my understanding, volcanoes will activate at Cascadia range JUST PRIOR to an EQ. Maybe not huge activity, but they should all start going active to some degree because the pushing below, heats it up underneath and the salt water that slips into gap helps to actually form magma, so you'd see a rise in magma and pressures, etc. I have been watching the mountain range for precursor activity. I'd also be interested to know what the East side land-lift levels are recently. More pressure creates more uplift. Nobody Determines MY Worth but ME |

As fascinating as it is, it's also quite scary. I think about how the Arkansas diamonds came to be from a hotspot that was under southern AR that supposedly moved under GA. I wondered if that was from the same system, you know? Nobody Determines MY Worth but ME |

It's fifteen minutes and worth the time. Quoting: Rose8 Video Title: How the Cascadia subduction zone will trigger the eruption of Yellowstone. Video description: The Cascadia subduction zone runs from Cape Mendocino, California, to Vancouver Island, Canada. An earthquake along the offshore Cascadia Subduction Zone would cause deadly shaking in coastal areas of Washington, Oregon, British Columbia and northern California. Those who live in that region and west of the Cascade Mountains are at risk. 15min Video: Things are not looking good from down here, and that includes here too. As he says, it's global, we are all connected. Aus is pushing (jammed) into Indonesia (Lombok earthquakes, which they say caused 2 separate earthquakes way down in the southern parts of Aus!!) I don't know where Indonesia is 'pushing', and lots of volcanoes all nearby there. Speaking of volcanoes, Was a shock to see on a 60 minutes program here, talking about how there are volcanoes along lower Aus, that may erupt at some point!! (not extinct, but over 5,000 yrs since last eruptions) Wonder why they saying that? Hmmm Lots of things going on world wide. Yellowstone is probably connected to ? which is connected to ? . . etc etc 5* |

A major Yellowstone eruption will take out the power grid, for at least the central & western portions of the US. No power equals back-up power for cooling the reactor cores. Back-up power only lasts so long & when the back-up power runs out, you get a runaway reactor, a la Fukushima times dozens of Nucular Power Plants, times however many reactors per site. It's the shit flavored cherry on top of the shit flavored banana split, served up by Yellowstone, a twist that makes a nightmare scenario just that much worse, a scenario that was inconceivable 100 years ago & is wholly unnecessary, save for the greed of a small group that wield entirely to much power over us(but that's another story in & of itself). I have one question: in 1700, the last Cascadia event, it was estimated to be an 8.7–9.2 M event. It caused a massive tidal wave that reached Japan. the last event was at the maximum magnitude the area is believed to be able to produce. So, did Yellowstone blow in 1700? No, it did not. So why does this guy claim the CSZ will set off YS? It's never done it before. /fearporn |
