I live in STRONGLY GOP territory in a state that is mostly armed, I have nothing to fear.

I'm a believer in arms. Decided some time ago I wouldn't date a guy that wasn't carrying. Too much crazy happens in the world and I don't want to be a target with no recourse.

Not sure I understand arguments in favor of automatic weapons - but definitely I do not believe we should be required to "turn in" any sort of private legal possession of anything! That's a road we absolutely cannot start down.

Im not sure if dems feel anything. They will feel the fronts of cars in a day or so though if they play sook n splat again.

Democrats have been so totally dehumanized, dissed in every way on here, yet approximately half our population are Democrats - these are neighbors, doctors, owner of our favorite bakery, the uber driver, the person in the next cubicle. Their knuckles don't drag the ground, they don't spit in your coffee, they are just normal people.

How can we say they may not feel anything? Doesn't that seem far too harsh, for ordinary neighbors and workmates and associates?

What worries me about this election is not who wins, it is the damage done to relationships by such intense anger and hate that the super-heated political discussers display. I'm afraid they will be unable to let go this tremendous animus toward a political party and thus the members of that party, who are very likely nice people, normal people, with simply different political viewpoints.

The rational, normal people in this nation can accept the religion, usually, of the neighbor, the cab driver, the dog groomer, and all. That doesn't stir up insane accusations in most cases - it's live and let live. In politics, over this one election, it's so hot, so furious - and no thought of live and let live.

Or maybe all this is only here on GLP and not so much among people who are not active on a "conspiracy" forum. However, I see news media hyping up certain incidents, projecting them into the views of so many, some of whom may well be unstable and react badly.

Perhaps there is nothing to worry about. Perhaps after the results are posted and people have a day or so to accept the facts, whichever direction they go, people will take deep breaths, wonder why they had been so virulent and said such terrible things, and get back to being something closer to normal.

You say so many things about Democrats, and speak as if you have personal knowledge that what you say is fact - that took so much research, so much time in personal interviews - I cannot imagine what was reqiured to gather all that information.

I have not attacked you in any way - I have discussed possibilities, thoughts, musings, and a genuine concern for how all this will fall out after the elections. "Sitting around" probably is not what I do, though you seem quite sure.

I didn't enter this thread to become involved in an argument. That's what worries me - so much anger and hate it boils over in a second, without real cause - nothing I said should have turned you to jumping on me.

All this about pedophilia - it's a disgusting, inexcusable activity, but what has it to do with the elections? If you know someone to be a pedophile, it is your duty to report them to law enforcement. If someone elected to public office is a pedophile, they will quickly be removed from office and jailed, if it is true. Could we say no Republican, ever, was a pedophile? I just can't believe the subject came up - seems very odd.
