^^^^It seems that the prosecutor in the case messed up- maybe intentionally- by not prosecuting under other child abuse/human abuse laws on the books.

The easy way to solve this argument is to make circumcision illegal for both male and females. But women will fight against this, along with circumcised men.

Just as noted in FGM, there are various levels of amputation and nerve destruction with male mutilation, in many cases largely eliminating pleasurable sensations. But that's the whole point of any genital mutilation.

Judge dismisses female genital mutilation charges in historic case

In a major blow to the government, a federal judge in Detroit has declared America's female genital mutilation law unconstitutional, thereby dismissing the key charges against two Michigan doctors and six others accused of subjecting at least nine minor girls to the cutting procedure in the nation's first FGM case.

The historic case involves minor girls from Michigan, Illinois and Minnesota, including some who cried, screamed and bled during the procedure and one who was given Valium ground in liquid Tylenol to keep her calm, court records show.

The judge's ruling also removed three mothers from the case, including two Minnesota women whom prosecutors said tricked their 7 -year-old daughters into thinking they were coming to Metro Detroit for a girls' weekend, but instead had their genitals cut at a Livonia clinic as part of a religious procedure.

There are a lot of misinformed people here about the subject. Saying that FGM would be like chopping of the head. Not true. There are WAY more nerve receptors in the foreskin than the head. Also, females who undergo FGM can still orgasm, it just takes more work. SAME AS MEN WHO ARE CIRCUMCISED. There are stories of men who lost the whole head and they claim sex still feels the same and they still orgasm. Are they telling the truth? Who knows.
The point is that both are mutilations and one is legal and one is not. Because men are not protected at birth like women are.
Many of the men arguing on this page have been cut, and unless they have actually done the research they are arguing out of ignorance. Many circumcised men will defend circumcision until their death. That is because it is a trauma that was inflicted at such a young age that they have to justify it. It's like saying 'I was raped as a baby and I turned out just fine'. Ridiculous.
I could rant all day and go into the science, psychological, and spiritual aspects but that will not change what has been done. I can only hope there is justice in the next life.

When the 'Lord' (ruler of the house, not GOD) appeared to Moses and demanded his life or his son's foreskin that is what was going on. The law at the time demanded that all sons be circumcised. Moses refused so the 'Lord' was there for Moses's life. Moses's wife could not stand for Moses to be killed so she circumcised her son right there, saving Moses's life. Many people misinterpret the story as actually GOD being there. Lord means ruler of the house. not 'GOD'.

Men are trapped into not talking about it because men who complain about circumcision are not seen as good sexual partners. And everybody knows men want sex. Especially if they are sex deprived because the nerve endings that are responsible for full pleasure have been amputated at birth.
