It took almost a year of PT to get full relief. Should I try a Chiropractor? I injured myself by over stretching. I'm in a lot of pain. Thanks. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 7835328 They can help, though most just take your money and let time heal you... Inflammation is the enemy. It prevents nutrients and therefore healing to take place in the injured tissues. Take aspirin daily for inflammation and get a Rx for something more powerful, then your body will heal faster. GEnerally I hate to agree about much with you on general principle, but a steady application of antiinflammatories is essential for managing chronic pain, knowing that the antiinflammatory activity of such medications requires long term use and not intermittant or sporadic applications. Pretty much with age and wear related pain you have to be on antiinflammatory NSAIDS for the duration. Much of what is considered/percieved as pain is directly proportional to inflammation process focally or generally. Since inflammation is also a condition that can stimulate neoplasia, it helps reduce malignant transformation at sites of chronic inflammation. |

Not only that but the more you use narcotics the less effective your own internal pain control mechanisms work. Stay away from using narcotics on a daily or frequent basis, because you end up putting your endorphin system to sleep. |

This can lead to mild to severe pain, which can worsen over time. In fact, if left untreated, this disease can cause serious problems, including unbalanced vertebrae. If the pain is tolerable, aching, it is better to consult a doctor and get personal chiropractic adjustment and care [link to www.diamondchiroomaha.com (secure)] If you limit yourself only to massages, the pain can only go away for a while, but it is not the main disease. User ID: 80193276 United States 04/20/2021 04:49 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I have an inversion table and an inversion chair. The inversion chair is the better device. Not sure if they still make them. I saw one for sale 20 years ago in a Sam's club and bought it instantly. Took an entire day to assemble, but man what a great machine. I don't think they make them anymore. I saw something called inversion chair, but it flattens out like a normal inversion table. This thing remains like a chair, just upside down. Really does the trick on the lower lumbar. Next is a machine called a Torso twister or something like that made by Cybex. [link to www.fitnesssuperstore.com (secure)] Some day I will buy that thing. You also should be taking a double dose of Naproxin for a few days to relieve the spasm and inflammation. Tai Chi is also quite useful. and just laying flat on the floor with knees up on a chair sometimes helps a bit. And I bought a mattress that makes a big difference. One of the top end Simmons. I forget the name world class or some stupid name. Makes a big difference if you start the day without back pain vs it already hurting from a crap mattress. And put that mattress right on the floor. Box springs are crap! Last Edited by JustmeTX on 04/20/2021 04:53 AM Justme |

Muscles in the lower back are so stiff, I'm all messed up. I have a combo stepper/elliptical machine that I use for a few minutes yesterday and today. I went at it very easy. It felt good and seemed to temporality reduce some of the tension in my lower back. I'm stretching a couple of times a day. It takes me ten minutes to make it from the bed to the bathroom in the morning. They have been applying heat and massage but very little manipulation. Thanks you all for your concern, this definitely SUCKS. No time off, I have to continue to work. I'm in good shape and I'm not over weight. Have you tried ice packs? It helps reduce inflammation and breaks the pain cycle. I also believe in Chiropractic. |
Anonymous User ID: 80265183 United States 04/20/2021 05:55 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | The time it takes for a Chiropractor to help anyone varies depending on how sick a person is. The one thing is certain is that as long as you have lower back pain and spasm you are going to have other problems. Everything is reflexes and feedback from the body to the brain. Balance of nervous forces requires first the balance of our responses to gravity. If you have a strong abdomen it doesn't necessarily mean you don't have GI problems. If your low back is injured you will also have GI spasms and abdominal tension. The gut can't relax and eliminations will be poor. Many people have chronic problems with old injuries to the spine whether they have pain or an obvious problem with their posture. But over time it will cause a obesity. Why? Because the GI track cannot rest and relax due to chronic spasm or "Spastic Colon". This means poisons and toxins will accumulate in the body and become a burden increasingly over time whether they have pain or not. This is hard on the heart as well as the nervous system and can lead eventually to heart attack and/or stroke. Obesity begins with injuries to the spine! EVERY Chiropractor knows this. And the medical establishment will not acknowledge this publicly for fear of losing their hold on the drug market. FACT! |

Anonymous Coward User ID: 80265291 Spain 04/20/2021 06:57 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Yes but he or she has to be a good chiropractor , I had a very bad accident when I was 22 I am 46 now .. I broke some cartilage on my spine and it resulted in me have spasms and sciatica like a motherfucker I was in agony for months everyday hideous pain and in the beginning I was taking drugs which helped and doing physio which didn’t help.. I was desperate for a solution I thought the rest of My life would be fucked but then 1 day I noticed a little clinic in a neighbouring town , I had read about chiropractors before but thought it was pseudo science garbage so avoided but it just so happens the owner of this clinic saw me all fucked up hobbling up the road as I was passing she said your spine is out of line and said she could probably re align me I asked how much and she said judging by the tears in your eyes this will be free but if you want me to continue it’s 20 quid a session I said ok so I wobbled in and she proceeded to fuck around with my legs and back she put me on a table and bent me in all kids of places it hurt like fuck but I let her continue as she was looking confident I was a big man and she was a little french woman but she kept at Me for 30 minutes manipulating me 1 piece at a time until she eventually jumped on my side with what looked like a wwf elbow smash but what she did worked I heard my back click and I felt an instant sense of euphoria I wasn’t fixed but I felt a little more less in pain and when she sat me up I put My feet down and I could weight bare on my right leg again all be it a bit .. she said it’s all England’s still and I will feel a bit better when it calms down but she said when she got past my muscles my spine “was too easy” to re align whatever was wrong with me is bad. The next day I was so relieved after months of agonising pain and drugs I went back to her regular .. but she was right my Spine was loose and I kept putting it out by doing stuff like Coughing or sneezing I went to hospital several times and they said take the pain killers and live your life avoiding “shock” that meant no running stuff like that .. my chiropractor said she was moving back to France and feared I would turn to shit again without her so she spent the next Couple of sessions teaching me to “undo” my spine which I have mastered and refined it to an art that looks a little weird in the middle of the street but it saves me from sheer agony with assistance I can undo my own back in a minute and I have to do it regular once maybe twice a week but as I have also been strengthening my core slowly I have become mobile and can live a somewhat Normal life .. still cannot run though . |
