Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77441614 Nice sound! May I guess? I hear a bit of an influence of Rush and Kansas...technical music with a punch. I actually got into rush the winter before this when I was delivering pizza in state college, Pa. Limelight came on and I was like WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT?!?! |

I could see that a bit with the structure. I really love how Rush stays away from a formulaic verse-chorus-verse-chorus type of song. It makes it an adventure to listen to or something like that. |

For anyone that missed that he died in an accident in 2005 at 16, we wrote a few songs together that summer. Quoting: BFD He played guitar and I played drums but since he was dead and all I played everything on this one. Cheers! [link to soundcloud.com (secure)] OP - Great emotion in this piece, sorry your brother left this dimension so soon. I'm feeling it. To me there is a great guitar solo to be explored with that melody starting at 2:00. You kind of start into it playing that single-string lick for one bar but then it goes into the breakdown. See where you can go with a solo for 16 bars then go into the breakdown. Listened to it a third time and I'm feelin it. You mind if I work on some "GLPers exposing TPTB" inspired lyrics to this track? |

That part that you mention is definitely my favorite so I could see elaborating more there. If it inspires you to create and make music, go nuts man. Make sure you post it on GLP so we can all hear. |
