After Living A Happy Life For 10 Years, Man Wakes Up And Realizes He Dreamed It All
After Living A Happy Life For 10 Years, Man Wakes Up And Realizes He Dreamed It All

From the Article:

“I stopped eating, I left the couch only to use the bathroom at first, soon I stopped that too as I wasn’t eating or drinking. I stared at the lamp for 3 days before my wife got really worried, she had someone come and try to talk to me, by this time my cognizance was breaking up and my wife was freaking out. She took the kids to her mother’s house just before I had my epiphany…. the lamp is not real…. the house is not real, my wife, my kids… none of that is real… the last 10 years of my life are not real!

I've had extended time in dreams, my record is 2 weeks. I've interviewed people who have had entire lifetimes lived in a single night sleep. An East Indian mystic I met often extends the time in dreams, and his record is 10 years. When I asked Tom Campbell if he experienced similar he said his record is 3 months.

Personally, I enjoy these long dreams that defy logic and our sense of physical time. To me, they are mini-vacations and I openly welcome them but they are too rare where I wish they were nightly occurrences.

Have you ever had time in dreams exceed the time you slept?

Here is one example from 2010 where I captured a two week non-lucid dream during a study on time in dreams.

All is a dream in a dream in a dream...etc

The thing is to realize it as you ve done a long time ago OP.

There is not any difference between all those dreams but the beliefs we attach to them.

Re: After Living A Happy Life For 10 Years, Man Wakes Up And Realizes He Dreamed It All
I have had a similar vision/ alternative life, that was so real that I too mourned when I realized it was false. Took me months to get over it.

My current spouse was the same person, but we were wealthy for the most part. We had a son that I took pride in and raised until he was four years old. I believed I was pregnant with a second child... a girl. My whole life was different in the alternative universe. It seems so unfair now. I still miss my son and can see his face and know his personality well.

My spouse and I broke up after years of financial struggle and a couple miscarriages. I guess I must of been in opposite land. I think the experience changed me too.

If people only really knew, that even right now we are all living dreams that last a lifetime. Funny how that is, and how it is right in front of us but so few have the capacity to realize it.

Dreams are the forge of experience.

It's quite common in these very long extended dreams that people need an adjustment period and some have told me it takes weeks/months to re-adjust to this life.

It doesn't just happen with dreams, there are people who report similar with hypnosis, DMT, mushrooms and LSD causing experiences that lock them into long durations of extended time.

I've had incredibly real dreams of flying & surfing and woke up VERY disappointed that the dreams weren't real but have never come close to something like this.

My view is dreams are real experiences but may not have relevance to our waking reality. However, they are something that we have a sense of self, and a sense of reality during the time we are in any dream.

It's a type of reality, but one we are creating using highly organized thoughts as the programming language of the dream experience. Dreams are a virtual reality experience if there ever was one.

I spent years trying to figure out how to make the dream life become reality.

I even went to meet the dream husband (I knew who he was but didn't know him) to see if he recognized me. But he didn't seem to know me at all

It was jarring.

I didn’t wake up yet.

Since we spend about 1/3 of our life asleep, it would be nice if we could return to where we left off dreaming the night before.

The closest to this experience that I've ever had was dreaming that I couldn't fall asleep. It was a fake night of insomnia.

Many years ago, in college, I saw an independent film about Confederate prisoners being marched by their guards. When they went across an old bridge, one ran and jumped off into the stream. The guards tried to shoot him, but he escaped and made his way home to his beloved GF/wife. He lived, I can't remember how long, but for a while, having a great life with his loving woman. Suddenly there was a great noise and the scene changed and he was standing in front of a firing squad. He hadn't really escaped. That was the end of the movie and his escape and life was all a dream.

Once had a dream i won a huge bundle of Cash at a Casino.

I woke up and noticed by Hand was in the same position it would have been holding a huge Bundle of Cash.

My disappointment was palpable.

I have had many lucid dreams where i have been having sex with a hot woman.I hate these dreams because they never finish,i have woke up and tried to force myself to go back to sleep.

Sure, ignore the other posters in this thread that shared their similar experiences. The point is, it is known that people can have a perception of time that exceeds clock time so much so that scientists wanted to concoct a drug that forced prisoners to experience 1,000 years of time in 8 hours as part of their prison sentence.
