Actually the freed slaves were given reparations. They were given their own country in Africa if they chose to go there. Some accepted, some did not.

But, as it stands today most black people don't deserve shit from white people. Most aren't doing jack shit to actually earn it. It's fuckin pathetic.

Rasism is a crutch for the vast majority of black people. And it is a crutch that was given to you, and encouraged, by communist liberal democrats. They traded the slaves chains for EBT cards.

Slavery is not justifiable and never will be.

No black person alive was a slave. We have many opportunities to succeed today and need to stop using slavery as an excuse for failures.

If you were a slave you deserve reparations along with you children, but no one after that.

I am of Scottish ancestry. Using liberal logic, England owes me reparations for their oppression of my Scottish ancestors.

I do surveys, mostly for Universities. Just this week, I've had 4 or 5 surveys on this topic. They aren't interested in GETTING your opinion in the survey, they are interested in TELLING you what your opinion SHOULD be.

I actually had one that was asking which I thought would be a better solution "More affirmative action" or "Cash Payments". There was no choice for "Neither". So, when they show the results of the survey they can say "See, people want THIS option" more than the other.

It's an insane idea that would be opening a Pandora's box. It wouldn't be limited to America or to black slavery. Pretty much every people have been slaves at some point in history because that was acceptable back then.

This historical outrage culture could lead to modern wars over things that happened hundreds if not thousands of years ago. It needs to stop.

Liberals will do and say anything for a vote. This next election cycle is gonna be so fun. Everyone of the idiot liberals are trying to outdo each other with insane issues. Trump is gonna steam roll all of them.

My Maternal Great Great Grandfather fought for the Union at Gettysburg, was captured at the Battle of the Wilderness and died as a POW at Andersonville (along with over 11,000 other Union Soldiers). He was 33 when he enlisted, married with 4 children.

So, what kind of reparations should my family be held to pay? What about the blacks which were slave owners themselves? What should they pay? What about the cost of affirmative action? Wasn't that the real reparations this country paid?

And as others have stated, no one alive today who was born in this country was a slave or a slave owner.

The Confederate Flag doesn't offend me. Statues of Confederate war heroes and monuments don't offend me. What offends me is when history is manipulated to serve the political ambitions of supposed Americans to stoke hate and distrust among the races.
