A person can exchange one's labour for money or a tangible asset etc. In an ordered Society there is only a certain need for so many people to operate it at each level. The Biggest groups being the hands on workers. People do not choose to be poor. There are many who work harder than you do but they are not well off. The Capitalist mantra that if you work hard you will be rewarded does not always ring true. Many work hard all their lives only to have the money stolen from them. The system is rigged and you know it is, there is no point denying it. Even your Billionaire's have to borrow money when they first start out. However I agree with don't get in debt and your opening premise. I can show the farmer and the nurse how to become wealthy. You don't have to make a lot of money, you just need to be smart with what you make. I see credit card statements that show restaurants, gas stations, grocery stores, etc. Then a person gets sick, and has to run up medical bills because they had no savings or no health insurance, or if they have the insurance there is no money for the co-payments. So they use up the credit cards for the medical bills. Then there is no money for the minimum payments on the credit cards, because they are too sick to work and lose their job. Then the bankruptcy gets filed, but they can't pay the bankruptcy lawyer, and so the bankruptcy gets dismissed. It's like watching dominoes toppling each other down until nothing is left.
