They must use some mechanical shit with mirrors to see it. No robot can get close.

can't they put this stuff in a ship attached to a rocket and send it into space?
 Quoting: H.E. Pennypacker

they can't get near it.. i'm surprised after all this time they got a robot that close.... they already lost all the others.. i guess that's a step....

Can't rule out the entire video being staged.. That "corium" stuff does looks unique though
 Quoting: Master of Nothing

I'm no nuclear scientist, but I read,

that looks like the "Slag" from a pool of corium, The actual corium is probably a few meters below.

And why are they using chop sticks when what they need is a spoon / digger style robot.

Geez give me a small robot 360 with a sorting grab and I'll have that shit cleared up in an hour.

Common jap fags do better, you make some good shit, this should be sorted by now.

You can't believe a word they say or anything the Jap govt. says about Fukushima.
There is a law mandated blackout of info in Japan.
The press nor anyone else is allowed to release any information.

I wonder what I was looking at?

Video is from back in February, but very interesting nonetheless.

With HBO's hit mini-series about Chernobyl airing right now, normies interest in this subject has never been higher. It's a good time to share Fukushima info on social media (if you use it) to redpill people in relation to the Chernobyl disaster.
 Quoting: Putin's Voluntaryist

that mini series was real good .

Because this website has made me extremely cautious and paranoid, even questioning my own tangible reality, I know that HBO's hit series "Chernobyl" is leaving things out as far as how devastating the disaster really was/is still.

Tell me, how close were we really to global catastrophe? Does the situation @ Fukushima compare in its potential deadliness?

Thank you for answering my question.

I don't see much water in the video, are they not cooling it? I also thought all robots failed and no tech was available to build a proper robot for this kind of extreme radiation?

Re: First Contact With Molten Corium Core At Fukushima No. 2 Reactor: Video From Robot
what cracks me up about the video is no courtesy of showing a giger reading. If that is in fact the actual corium then that robot must be hardened as fuck , I remember they had a few in 2011 that couldn't even get close before spazzing out.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 75516488

Yes, quite true! Amazing the robot kept functioning.

I can't imagine the number of Sieverts or Roentgens being generated.
 Quoting: EBEN

The remaining coria(reactors 1 and 2) were critical and fissioning for a year and a half after the meltdowns. After they stopped reacting, the residual radiation was still massively high. Now, after 8 years or so from the meltdown, the radiation is not as bad, though it's plenty lethal. Robots were purpose built and superhardened, but I doubt that they could handle a critical corium for more than a moment. Now we have to load what's left with boron and vitrify it so it won't migrate.

No one is talking about this and they should be. And the MSM has been complicit for the past 8 years hiding this disaster from the public. More cancer? Who cares, Big Pharma has some pills that will keep you from dieing too quickly, lifetime subscription.

On reddit there is a sub called /chernobyl that is getting more popular. Alot of people are becoming interested. Nuclear power is a scary powerful energy source, but with literally no solution if a disaster strikes.

Readers are becoming more aware of Fukushima, which is honestly good. I'm very surprised HBO allowed a series that hits very close to reality. Even if they arent showing the true fallout of what nuclear disasters are capable of, it is stemming discussions. On the subreddit there are many shills pushing that Climate Change is the real disaster that we should be concerned about, not Fukushima, which is a total fuckign nightmare.

The pacific coast is dieing off, FACT. Purple urchins seem to be flourishing and killing off most of the natural habitats. And environmental agencies prevent the public from doing anything about it with threats of fines and jail if you kill the urchins.

I'm guessing that the specks constantly flying at the camera are actually atomic disintegrations being picked up?

Gives an idea of the radioactivity, which I'd expect would be lethal to humans in within several minutes or less.

Chernobyl killed thousands directly, and hundreds of thousands indirectly it was encased, Fukushima never ever has been solved. There it sits just doing its thing to the water, soil, air, prevailing winds, all day every day since 2011.

Japanese people are smart and I'm sure they will find a solution. They are doing a lot. It's your fault if you don't see it.

We are lucky this did not happen in Russia or China.

Chernobyl was much worse, by all counts.

Chernobyl was nowhere near as bad. Get real.

Reactor 3 alone eclipsed Chernobyl. It blew its guts(with MOX fuel) and the entire spent fuel pool to the four winds. It created a black rain of what was the critical core a moment before.
