Liquid smoke really helps the beans, and Aldi sells bacon bits really cheap. Also, lentils taste better than pinto beans and are easier to cook.

Remember, you want beans mixed with any grain.

So it could be beans and rice, beans and pasta, beans and bread or crackers or corn chips or pancakes.

Even beans and coco wheats or cap'n crunch :)

Also, anything tastes good when you are staving to death!

put fat ( I like beef tallow) in a frying pan, brown some garlic or onions in it, add the rice and coat it with the fat keeping heat high

add hot water to cover, simmer to cook, stir in black beans.

any spices you like.

Second recipe:

Black bean burgers: drain the black beans, put them in a food storage bag and roller-pin them to smooth consistency. you can do this with a can or bottle, too.
Turn the bag inside out. put the bean mush in a bowl.
add some pre-boiled rice.


Add onion, salt, any spices you like. Some cornmeal if not thick enough to form patties.
you can add an egg if too dry.

fry onion and garlic add to beans mix rice together with lettuce and tomatoes. Brasilians loves this.

Salt, pepper, and garlic powder will do fine and can be stored along side the bags of rice and beans in proportionate quantities

I'm making a list of people who give this reply so I know who to never visit at dinner time.

my oldest just made them the other day, vegan. They didn't taste anything like black beans, 100% brownie taste. I don't know exactly what recipe she used but it worked the only thing I didn't like was the real sugar inside, it made my throat feel scratchy, it's very strong taste after not having any in years.

Red lentils with cayenne in chicken broth with lemon and yoghurt is good.

For cheeseburger-esque rice made with stored items: Reconstitute hamburger rocks, dehydrated onions, and dehydrated pickles together. In a separate container combine tomato powder, mustard powder, cheese powder, hot water and let stand for approx 10 minutes.
Add all to cooked rice and stir.
The dried burger, onions, and pickles could be added to the rice while it cooks if needed, but allow for more water. And if you have canned bacon or bacon tvp to add, you are indeed sitting pretty.

Add some stuff like onions & peppers. You can always buy either dehydrated if you are worried about finding a fresh supply.
