You can never prove what happens!
US killer subs have been taken out other countries subs for years!
Once in a while you might catch a US killer sub coming back to port flying a Jolly Roger flag..... mission accomplished!!

What more proof do you need that there is no God...

We're a ship of fools hurtling through an indifferent universe. The captain and the crew is drunken, and mad scientists invent new ways to kill every living thing on earth each day. What could possibly go wrong.

I mean what the hell else could a submarine be doing that saved the world
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77155162

Could they be suggesting that the actions the crew took once the fire broke out helped to avoid a planetary catastrophe? Meaning if they hadn't addressed the fire in the manner in which they did, that a damaged nuclear vessel could have posed a significant threat to the global population? (i.e. surfacing and spewing radioactive material or something)

...as opposed to "they went down there and kicked some alien ass".

Just a thought.

Re: Russian servicemen 'averted planetary catastrophe' during nuclear submarine accident
Firefight between subs. Russia averted planetary catastrophe. Put the two together, and I come up with Russia-who behind the scenes are actually wanting to avoid war- fire on a rogue DS sub who was ready to empty their tubes. Remember, a sub already fired a missile at AF1 outside Hawaii. Our true military wouldn't do that.—

Do you have a link for the above please—Thanks
Bodiless—-

Now putting together pieces that may not fit, I read recently that Pepsi at one time had th world's 7th largest military, as they were paid for a bill by military assets including several subs. Pepsi has admitted? been accused? they use aborted fetuses for flavor enhancement. That tells me they are dark, and take part in human sacrifice and trafficking, which means they would have no problem being a part of that.

I sure go off on a tangent sometimes, don't I?

What if they stopped a dead man switch...automated to go off in case of Russia loosing a preemptive attack...which would have launched their ballistic doomsday ICBMs?

In that case, I’m having a vodka tonight and toast them as heroes!

Re: Russian servicemen 'averted planetary catastrophe' during nuclear submarine accident
Yeah I'm thinking that if the story is true, it could be about an uncontrollable escalation of force between Russia and 'someone else' (US) that would have resulted in a brinkmanship situation which ALWAYS devolves into Mutually Assured Destruction.

Maybe someone attacked the sub and instead of allowing it to escalate, Russia ruled it as an 'accident' to prevent a bigger problem? We all know the deep state wants war between US / Russia--perhaps Russia is keen to who the enemy is. If this is the case, I would wager that it means something big is coming for the US, and Russia is aware of it. Instead of taking the deep state bait, Russia gave us more rope to hang ourselves with.

Dead sailors stopped a 'planetary catastrophe' aboard a secret submarine, a top Russian naval officer said at their funeral

[link to www.businessinsider.com (secure)]

The July 1 incident remains a mystery as Russia has declared the details a "state secret." Peskov stressed last week that all of the information about the submarine and its mission are classified at the "highest level," ABC News reported. Even the funeral was secretive, with many in attendance refusing to show their faces or identify themselves to attending media

I was thinking that the fire could have damaged some sort of system that dealt with the launching of on-board weapons, and they needed to manually shut that system down before it launched those weapons and potentially started a nuclear war.

know what i think they used an experimental engine and something went wrong, what that engine could be well fusion reactor for example at best a anti matter reactor which would have caused a planetary problem for sure. just a nuclear reactor would not have done much then locally

My guess it is was a nuke submarine with nuclear weapons on board and an F up happened, that caused the submarines reactor to go critical.

Depending on the nukes, and the amount of radioactive material, if an accident did happen, it would be bad news.

Russian's are arseholes when it comes to nuclear technology. They have been using the arctic ocean to dump their nuclear waste in since the 1950's.

Water inhibits radioactivity better than just about anything.

It's why spent fuel is stored in pools.

A big problem with Fukushima was that the water in the spent fuel pool was in danger of draining and exposing the fuel rods.

Disgusting as it is, the bottom of the ocean is the safest place to have a broken nuclear reactor.

So...if it wasn't the reactor that was really a danger to the planet, wtf was???

Re: Russian servicemen 'averted planetary catastrophe' during nuclear submarine accident
"The families of the 14 Russian servicemen who died after a fire broke out on a nuclear submarine have reportedly been told that their relatives averted a “planetary catastrophe” before they passed away.

A high-ranking military official is said to have made the comment at a funeral for the crew in St Petersburgh days after the accident in the Barents Sea earlier this week.

The incident remains shrouded in mystery after the Russian government refused to reveal the submarine’s name and its mission, claiming them as state secrets."

I wonder what really happened, those are some big words to be sounding out. That under any other than truthful situation would be patronizingly preposterous.
 Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77155162

Who the hell wants to be the first to start WWIII?

If anyone told me to fire a nuke is tell them to suck my balls. I am not nuking soldiers or civilians. It is the surest way to never see your own family again back home and you will live with it on your conscience forever.

AI will be the cause of Nuclear War and will be the one to fire when it does happen. No competent colonel or commander is that damn crazy once the call is made.

It was a Russian submarine commander who averted WWIII during the Cuban Missile Crisis, when he refused to follow orders and fire nuclear-tipped torpedoes at the American fleet who were in the process of depth charging the Russian subs. McNamara's "whiz kids" were incredibly stupid and McNamara only found out 40 years later at a convention in Havanna that the Russian subs he was depth-charging were armed with nuclear torpedoes and orders to sink the American fleet if attacked, which would have led directly to WWIII. The actions of one man - Vasily Alexandrovich Arkhipov - literally saved the world.

Russians are extremely patient. As evidenced by the Kursk "accident." The Israeli shootdown "accident" and now this latest "accident." Russians are patient, but when they finally hit their red line, they hit with everything they have. Hitler learned that lesson the hard way. It's only a matter of time before the Kremlin hardliners grow weary of Putin's moderation towards the Anglo-Zionist foreign policy.

I don't think they mean it in a WW3 type of sense, but on a more ecological perspective. Does anybody know if these nuclear submarines could cause and environmental disaster if they blow up or something?

What happened was they were fired on by a US sub. The Russians activated their Nuclear forces which prompted the US to go into Defcon 2. Trump called Putin offered his apologizes, and agreed to pay for the Sub plus compensate the families of the dead or injured. He believes that call avoided a Nuclear exchange. No it didnt because Putin is playing Political bumper cars and has no interest on getting into a Nuclear War. He expects China and the US to Nuke it out while he remains neutral and the only world power after their gone..
