Anonymous Coward User ID: 80458819 United States 12/02/2022 01:18 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | What OTC pain meds will do the least harm to a damaged spleen Kratom, advil, asprin, hard alcohol? What food or drink might be the most tolerable and be the least irritating? Is there anyway to speed the healing? Is soaking in a very hot bath good or make it worse? Ice or heating pad? Keep moving and working it or be still? Help please |

That is basically what I am getting ready to try now out of desperation, mental healing, meditation in a hot bath. I will think about snake looking ferns :), not all the snow my car is under. I could not shovel all that snow in this much pain to get to the doc if I wanted to and I do not want to. I just finally figured out tonight what the problem is. I hurt myself in a fall and kept on over working it doing hard labor all week and it kept getting worse. I thought it was just bruising and sore muscles but I have severe pain and burning on the left side under the ribs, going down the back and up the left shoulder and can not eat even a little without severe pain, nausea and indigestion. Any other advice would be appreciated. |

Would the other OTC pain meds like advil or alcohol be better? I do not want to make it worse by taking pain medicines or drinking but it hurts. Are there any major NO NO's I should know about that might make it worse? I could not even stomach home made blended vegie soup broth. |

If it is, depending on the severity, it may or may not be salvageable. If it gets past a certain point & isn't removed / let it go too long, you're probably not gonna like (or possibly even survive) the results.... It might cull out underperforming blood cells to make room for new ones. I'm not sure, and I don't think they are, either. Unlike the heart and liver and As far as spleen healing, I don't know of anything that aids spleen healing. Try to nourish yourself well, but don't overdo it. So much of what the medical people do is strictly actions to support the body healing itself. Broken bone? I can try to line it up right, but I can't force it to weld itself back together. I can encourage you to consume plenty of calcium. And I can charge you a fancy price for my advice. Some years back, I bruised or possibly tore my spleen. I tore up a number of things that day, and a bleeding spleen was on the list of things they identified as being amiss. I'm not sure how they could tell it was bleeding, because spleens are intrinsically bloody things. Fixing it (which would've meant removing it) wasn't a priority matter, though. The highest priority was stitching up my hamburgerized neck. Dr. Sinha used stitches, rather than staples, and I'm happy for that. 7' of surgical thread. I guess I liked Dr. Sinha; I was pretty loopy, and I don't remember anything about him. But anyway, my spleen apparently stabilized on its own before they could get their scalpels sharpened. They did get several scalpels sharpened and , but I've never found any scars anywhere near my spleen, so I guess it's intact and spleening along. |
