My parents were never honest with me . They hid as much from me as they could .

Get over it man . I'm 53 and still lay in bed wondering how all the drama destroyed us all .

I cut contact with mine more than once because of his behavior. There's signs of cognitive decline and behavioural issues as well. Never ever in my life have I ever wanted to say that to my dear sweet dad. He’s gone 2 years and 1 week. I miss him so much and it still hurts as much as it did then. I was blessed to have him for 54 years. I’ll miss him forever.
