Hmmm... must be the Canadian version of the plane you are talking about and not every pilot can fly the fastest and most stylish planes - there are not enough to go around. I am positive that they had no problem finding pilots who wanted to fly those planes. The pilots I talked to didn’t want to fly anything else... solid plane that they knew would get them home every time. I pretty much lived at the homewood suites in Fort Smith, right next to the airport - which is dual use civilian/military. When they took off late at night, they made dam sure to wake everyone up. Flys low and slow. Easy to take out even with 1st and 2nd old Soviet SAMs including shoulder fired manpads. Also A-10s were notorious for being inaccurate and usually couldn't his the side of a barn.
