Hey old folks. Did more people have heart attacks and stroke before medications were invented? | |

When you tear out a man's tongue, you are not proving him a liar. You are only telling the world that you fear what he might say. Also, there was only one kid at school who ever had asthma. Poor little buggar. It was so rare we treated him like a freak. Diabetes is another that was hardly ever heard of, a real rarity. In fact I never heard of one person I knew personally. Stay well (age 75yrs) |

When I was a kid in the early 1960's, if some ones grandpa had a heart attack and survived, they were the talk of the town for a while. Now it seems that everybody over 50 has had a couple. ![]() |

Quoting: Ralphyboy 77855530 Medicine keeps people alive longer. Facts. People used to die from infections until antibiotics were invented. Plus until about the 1970s almost everyone smoked, so that killed a lot of people (cancer and heart attacks/strokes). |

BUT....we didn't have the internet back then that reports these things. Sylvester Stallone's son, Sage Stallone (1976–2012), died of heart disease at age 36. Atherosclerosis. Hard to believe. Atherosclerosis usually occurs in elderly people. |
