Doom Break: I'm going to be out commission because of a Neck Fusion for a month or 2. How would you spend this time?

Read. Spanish. Catch up on movies. Write. Massage appointments.
Feed your passions.
You'll be surprised at how fast the time goes.

I would read my Bible and spend more time with GOD.
But that's me.

It took me 18 months to fully heal. Good luck with surgery

you will be in so much pain 24/7 that you won't be thinking about anything but dealing with the pain and trying desperately to get some sleep. Been there done that. And I have had (9) major surgeries in my life, including 3-levels of spine, torn rotators in both shoulders, shattered cheek, etc. Good luck but I suspect you will be watching a lot of TV in a drug-induced fog. Bring on the Contins and JD.

Thanks for the replies. I might be a little overly optimistic on this.

My wife got a neck fusion on the same day as another patient at the hospital.

Her roommate came out a quadriplegic, she did not.

How lucky do you feel?

To be honest, I don't really have a choice. If I choose not to, the odds are 100% I will be a quadriplegic, or worse.

Are you using cadaver or your own bone?

I definitly think that learning a new language is what I would do if I had the time

Also I would be planning a trip away to the country of my chosen language for me that would be Japan

Planning the trip will give you something to look forward to when you're better

We had a friend that had that operation or one like it...was forced to stay home for many months...got chickens and completely enjoyed his chickens and his time watching them outside...
