Yes, Dorian was aiming right at Alabama. Yes, hurricane prediction is difficult. No, it isn't wrong to warn people of a Category 5 hurricane when it's approaching, because no one can say for sure where it's going to go. And this hurricane did things that the experts weren't expecting.

I really don't care about the orange man either way. But at one point the models did show that Alabama could be at risk. People need to get a life the president should be respected whether you like him or not.

HA! My daughter and her husband were hit with 6mph winds in Palm Beach County!

My daughter and her husband are on Florida's east coast, directly WEST of the Bahamas. In Palm Beach County. Their house is ONE MILE from the beach. They were prepared with three cases of water, food for weeks, lanterns, extra batteries, and hurricane shutters on their house.

I worried about them, and on Monday afternoon, when the National Weather Service predicted they'd be hit with torrential rains and high winds...under hurricane watch, they sent me photos of them on the beach watching the surfers. Then...on Tuesday, when Dorian left the Bahamas, and when they were under hurricane warning, they said they had rain showers and a sight wind that lasted a few minutes, then it was sunny and calm.

They have a screened-in patio and were able to keep the patio door open the entire time! They just flew out this morning from Fort Lauderdale for a four day trip planned months ago.
