If she was an average person, or BLACK?
I think it would have been way worse.

Honestly, if she were not famous, I doubt she would have gotten any time at all. Just a fine and maybe comm service.

She is the perfect fall person. Famous enough to be known, not famous enough to have connections.

Shit sandwich all the way around.

Please give examples of other people who committed the same crime, and please state the prison sentence they where given.

Mail and wire fraud
In the United States, mail and wire fraud is any fraudulent scheme to intentionally deprive another of property or honest services via mail or wire communication. It has been a federal crime in the United States since 1872.

Yale: Private University.
Stanford: Private University.
Georgetown University: Private.
University of Southern California: Private University.

At a Private University, the expectations of it being solely merit based, is ridiculous. They are being persecuted for being prolific in Hollywood, and being Christian.

Worse, there is no evidence of criminal wrongdoing, only the "belief" of the Prosecutors.

The 56-year-old mother-of-two has been embroiled in the college admissions scandal since March this year when it was reported that she has been taken into custody because she and her husband William H. Macy made a purported charitable donation of $15,000 (£12,000) that authorities believe helped their eldest daughter to get into college.

There crime where that they made a charitable donation to a private university, and the Prosecutor thinks that is why their child got into a private university.

The whole thing is a sickening farce.

When will they investigate the fact that people pay other people to do their term papers? God knows how many cheaters have risen to power not of their own accord! They will all confront themselves upon arrival into the world of spirit and will make amends when constructing their new life contract with creator source.

Two weeks is enough for a woman who was contrite from the start, has proclaimed her guilt for all to see and has expressed her sorrow, to have to endure. Others who did a lot more and act innocent, should suffer much more.

Her sentence includes community service and a hefty fine and the fact she will have a felony record for life is quite enough, no matter her fame.

I want you to go and demolish your jails.

She is at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to this University scandal; do you really think Jodi Foster was smart enough to get into Yale? or Chelsea Clinton into Stanford / Oxford? How about George W Bush, dumb as a rock graduating from Yale? How about Malia Obama getting into Harvard, all she does is party

Most first time non violent offenders don’t get jail time, including drug dealers. She would not have gotten any time. Check people getting time. They are repeat offenders, including one here previously arrested over 60 times. If she does it again that would be the time to give her more time, but I doubt she will be back. Her husband is more hurt than she is. He won’t let her re offend. He is going through that again.

I think her and the lovely Lori Laughlin are the real victims in all of this.

Only in America can you go to jail for paying for your child's education but get a free education for your child if you come in illegally.

I mean. I agree with this. But on the other hand her daughters could have gotten into many universities just fine. They are already set for life finacially. The rest of their life is just a formality. Go through the role. Play the game.

It probably would have been worse, but at least she admitted her stupidity and seems remorseful.

Aunt Becky made a bad, bad choice by pleading not guilty. In the early days, she was signing freaking autographs and all smiles. She definitely thinks she's above the law. And not only that, she dragged her kids into it by having them take fake rowing pics. Stupidity all around.
