It has been heard and seen right along the NW coast through to Launceston. Anyone in any other areas see, hear it? I had a job in the newspaper business and I was a night owl for ten years. What you saw was a meteor about the size of a basketball. It caused no damage and if it made a noise it was similar to a sonic boom jets make. The real question is why was the homo Dundee filming at zero dark thirty? |

Given the descriptions and noise heard this object would have been quite large maybe Truck sized as it hit our atmosphere. You tube video - many more to follow, only happened 40 minutes ago, this video was a little way from where it landed. Is Tasy still there ? ummmmmmZ Shall we send out a boat to pick up survivors ? |

I'm doubtful this reached ground level. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 45476253 It exploded in the atmosphere, thunder lighting explosion was heard with a sound wave.
