I've since read that fraudsters take advantage of that company's referral kickback program. They ship the meat to random addresses. They don't care about the meat. They want $15 for each new account opened. In my case they put $700 worth of steaks on my credit card to get paid $75. |

I've been reading up, and with this particular scam, the perpetrators very well were operating outside the US. They didn't care where the steaks went, they wanted a $15/per order kickback. |

The person who was scammed can, however, file a police report. The police can then call the security line at the bank with the case number to get any detailed information. So it's really up to the person that was scammed to file the police report. Banks aren't typically involved in that process but can help the police in answering questions about what happened. |
