I Just Caught Someone Ordering $700 Worth Of Steaks Online With My Credit Card.
I reported it as fraud, and because I caught it immediately I would guess that the perpetrator could be caught and charged. Nothing had been shipped.

The credit card representative seemed not to care much.

It was 5 separate orders for $135, and they got the pin number wrong on one order.

Banks don't seem to be interested in catching the perpetrators. Someone used my numbers at Sea World in Fla for about the same amount. I got the charges dropped, but they wouldn't pursue catching the perp. I don't know why.
I don't have the time or the crayons to explain this to you.

Call your local cops.. see if they will contact the police in the recipient jurisdiction to arrest them when the meat comes... be there waiting to pick up your steaks while the Thieving Bastards go to jail..

Get someone from the call center in India and tell them that someone is charging Cow Meat to your CC to bbq and eat - give them a minute to vomit and then watch how fast they spring into action -

Strange, I had nearly the exact same thing happen to me last summer, except it was Disneyland rather than Sea World.

Banks and credit card processor have ZERO interest in stopping credit card fraud because they are not responsible for it. I remember when I owned a large online retailer, and caught someone trying to use 3 stolen credit cards to pay for some expensive automotive parts. I did not tell the perp, but instead took my own action. I called my processor, but they weren't really interested. Finally I complained loudly enough that they put a manager on it, and via conference called the bank. They would not even talk with us, even though knowing we were reporting fraud and wanted to let the person know their number was compromised.

This happened every single time I tried to report fraud. Finally I figured out that they don't care because the MERCHANT is 100% responsible.

This is happened to me recently also. The banks do not care about finding the perps.

The good thing is that the banks always work with you easily to credit your credit card account properly.

Investigations cost money and time. It's much cheaper to write off the loss and pass it along to consumers in annual fees or higher interest rates. They do go after the bigger fraud operations, those who make their own cards, and scams like that but the smaller frauds are just not worth the time and money and most dont go to jail anyway

The problem here is not everyone can get a credit card. Some of us are stuck with debit cards.
