And Jesus the Nazarene (who was also a rabbi, from that culture) got all offended, snowflake-style, by one question? I won't assume the worst and will just think that the writer is exaggerating what was a perfectly good question and answer. He wasn’t angry, I think he was disgusted because they were trying to trick him into saying the didn’t have to pay taxes or abide by Caesars laws but he makes it clear we should obey the laws of the land we live in. Unless its a wicked law that goes against the Word. He didn’t get snowflake at all actually. He was calm and intelligent. They were always trying to trick him. Plus he knew they were going to have him killed eventually. He did pretty good there. :) But what was wicked about them? As I said they engaged in such verbal battles with each other all the time. I can speculate about what they didn't like, but not all the rabbis got along, and there were several factions and actual wars. They didn't kill him. Romans killed him. Crucifixion was a Roman method of execution. Jws never used it. If you say "I'm going to kill Fred", I say "OK", and then you kill Fred, who is at fault? You, and not me. Maybe I didn't like Fred, but you killed him and I didn't make you do it. They did a lot of things but the worst was claim Jesus did his miracles through the power of satan. That is blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. You don’t need any other examples. That is the only sin that will not be forgiven.  |
