I just don't get it anymore...

I have to get some dinner going, but wanted to share one more thing here first, since I know also work can stress us out enormously. Not only the ridiculous workload that is put upon us for so called efficiency reasons, but also how people are treated as costs instead of added value to a company and discouraged to think outside the box for all the wrong reasons.

Of course, we can talk about Google, Twitter, Facebook etc controlling our behavior, but it is also happening in our daily work environment, with technology progressing so much that humans are merely just a link, submissive to the proces.

We are being automated as AI Robots and as long as employers don't recognize that and refuse to put energy and money and encourage creativity with their workers and thus creating security and added value when it comes to out of the box solutions when the technology fails, this will only progress more and with that not only create a great risk to their business, but also to their workers. Health issues, burn outs, you name it and thus creating even more pressure on society as a whole.

Also here, be aware of your own strength. You are often qualified for more than the work field you are in and the job you are doing. I know money for most of us is key and tight, so don't quit yourself, but no one can keep you from applying for another job from your current job. The least you can get from it is an indication what your chances are in the market with your qualifications.

It reminds me of this story about two colleagues.

One won the lottery and quit his job and another one won $100.000 the week after. They really hated our boss. So when that first guy won the lottery, he stepped into our bosses' office, with all glass windows, so we all god see it, lowered his pants and yelled: "Suck on this! I quit!"

And he walked out, leaving the boss and all of us baffled.

The guy who won $100.000 that week after said to us: "Watch me!" And he stepped into the bosses' office, lowered his pants and yelled: "Suck this you f*cking bastard slave driver! From now on I only work part time!"

I just don’t understand society anymore. Do you? Can’t we go back 30 or 40 years?

A time where you could go out fishing, without anyone bothering you or ask you where the heck you been. A time where pop concerts were not horribly youtubed, but enjoyed as a crowd with community singing and clapping and waving lighters and flags instead. A time where we could go play outside as a kid till 9 or 10 pm, without your parents texting every 15 minutes if you are okay. A time where cops were cops, respected for their authority and where your parents would kick your ass for pulling shit like kicking out a lamp post. A time when dad was dad, mom was mom and your aunt was not your uncle.

Anyway, you get the point. Our society has changed, and not for the better. This thread:

And you better not ask that boy girl question either or we are outta here!” The confused girl (let’s at least assume she is a girl) replies: “My sincere apologies. How can I help everyone?”

The guy says: “It’s okay. I am just very sensitive when it comes to gender issues. I feel so oppressed at times.” He turns to his son and says: “Okay Betty, go pick a toy.” And the son returns a minute later with a train set. His dad is happy: “See! I mean, can’t we just go back to children being children and parents being parents instead of their kids calling them John, Jennifer, Barbara or Hank, let alone call their dad Jennifer or their mom Hank? Come on. How brianless can one get? I can agree with some points they raise when it comes to animal cruelty, but ban sayings? Seriously? A saying like “Beating a dead horse” is cruel? How is that cruel? It is the whole point of the saying. You beat a dead horse. It has no use, the horse is dead! And it keeps you from beating a horse that is alive. I would even say that saying should be applauded by PETA, not condemned.

I mean, even though I would never hurt a fly, I can get pig headed at times, but stuff like this really gets my goat. So I called them, mad as a hornet and I told them that all this crap just is a wild goose chase. At one point I said: “With all due respect ma’am.. “ She rudely interrupted me: “Ma’am? Ma’am?? Hold your horses! You define my gender by the tone of my voice? How dare you! My name is Hank. And for what it is worth regarding our stand towards animal cruelty in sayings, an elephant is eaten one bite at a time.” With that she slammed down the phone on me. And I realized myself I was just beating a dead horse.

I heard that veganist organisations now have teamed up with PETA, with the highlight being that one dyslectic veganist stating that the word “meatings” as in “management meatings” should be banned from every dictionary. Seriously? Please, someone shoot me now!

As society swirls into the cesspool around us, we need to stay true to our own morals, our own beliefs, our own standards, and we need to record these for those coming up.

Write down what you know of history as you saw it. Write about the good things in life, the permanent values.

Talking about it isn't enough. If they're written, our words may survive us.

We must be kind to each other, but firm in our convictions.

This downward spiral will end. It may not end in my lifetime or in yours, but it will end. It won't end without turbulence. We need to pass along what we know to be good so that those who will fight for good when we are gone will know they're not in a void.

The world is in for upheaval while the evil strive for victory, but I believe that God wants His creation to survive and succeed. He's not going to hand paradise to us like a gift, but He gives us the gift of longing for good, working for it, and, if need be, fight for it.
