Her son shot his way into an Indiana high school. Now she's facing six felony charges
"Mary York didn't pull the trigger once Dec. 13 at Dennis Intermediate School. Her 14-year-old son did.

Yet, York, 43, sat inside the Wayne County Superior Court 1 courtroom on Friday afternoon. During an 18-minute initial hearing, Judge Charles Todd Jr. read seven charges, including six felonies, York faces as a result of her son's actions that day. She also heard the possible penalties, her constitutional rights and the case's next steps.

York's situation is relatively rare in the United States, because parents or guardians of juveniles who discharge firearms at schools do not often face charges. In most cases, however, the juveniles obtain their weapons from their home, as did York's son, whom The Pal-Item does not identify because of his age."

Neglect of a dependent by placing the dependent in a situation that endangers the dependent for failing to remove firearms from their South West 16th Street residence after her son threatened to kill students at Dennis and discharged a firearm inside her home;

how can this be mandated ?

and it sounds like these three are all the same thing essentially.

She didn’t get him help, didn’t remove guns, and didn’t ensure he was taking his meds - psychos without their meds are a bad thing.

All of this AFtER he discharged a weapon in the house and threatened to kill students at the school.

Seems there is indeed some culpability...

if parents were held responsible for their childs action-- they would get a tight grip on raising the child

but-- 7 out of every 10 dindoo children has no father in the home- 6 out of every 10 dindoo children have never met their father- many mothers of these niqqlets don't even know who the father is

dna the child and find out who is responsible for the childs actions
and lock the b*stard up
take away the mothers free ride
and her other niqqlets

These prosecutors are fucking assholes. The mother warned the police about what her son was planning so they were able to lock down the school. The son didn't manage to shoot any students and eventually shot himself and died.

So the woman loses her son and the prosecutors are assholes enough to charge her with felony charges.

School of the state is responsible for teaching and educating. She should sue her son's doctor for not figuring it out, medical negligence, and therefore not diagnosing him properly.

Re: Her son shot his way into an Indiana high school. Now she's facing six felony charges
I am a supporter of the 2nd amendment. I am a conservative. I also believe that if her son came into possession of firearms illegally (especially under age) and she knew about it and didnt report it to the police and those firearms were used in a crime, then she should be charged.

If the firearms are hers and she left them around the house and not locked up in a safe or a quick release safe and he had the direct ability to retrieve said firearms and used them to commit a crime, the she is to be charged.

It is simple: if someone steals my firearm and I do not report it stolen to the police (and I knew about it having been stolen) then I am responsible and should also be charged. Therefore if a parent does it, the same applies.

I keep my firearms locked up at all times. I have a quick open safe where i keep my main firearm used for protection. I also have a quick release hidden location where i can quickly access both my M4 as well as my kel tec ksg shotgun. Both are locked with my finger combinations. No one can just come in and grab them... and I dont even have kids.

You are responsible for that firearm. In the same way that you are responsible or every round you fire in self defense. So ALWAYS be aware of your background. Practice gun safety, practice storage safety and always have good concealed carry insurance and you should never worry a day in your life about your firearms or using them in actual self defense.

If you are NOT responsible, then you should have NEVER purchased a firearm to begin with. And you SHOULD pay the penalty for your irresponsibility if libes are lost due to your negligence.

I dont know all of the details in this case, but from what little was in that article, it seems that she was negligent all the way. Though the amount of charges against her are ridiculous.

She should sue her son's friends for inflicting him in the wrong way. And sue the TV shows he watched and video game producers of the games he played and the food companies of the foods he ate because they probably contributed to his lack of health and therefore cognition because they didn't show proper information about his dietary needs.

She should sue the cell network carrier of his cellphone network provider for not warning him he was spending too much time on it. Again, she should sue the state for not making the cellphone network providers not warn people about the content and time they are using.

She should sue the gun manufacturers for no warning labels that guns can be hazardous to one's or another's health.

If someone steals your car then uses it in a crime you should be charged as well. That is exactly the same line of reasoning.

How about you mind your own damn business and stop thinking you or anyone has any right to tell anyone else what to do with their own property inside their own home?

Crimes and death are the reality of this world and no amount of laws or lawyers or Government intrusion into our lives is going to change that.
