The current count of seats won have Liberals at 112, Cons at 97. The rest are too close to call or not enough votes in.

There are a lot of splits in areas that historically vote Liberal. So the likelihood of those seats shifting to Conservative is very low. Especially if you look how things turned out elsewhere.

The projection is Lib 157 COn 122
With the NDP of 23 and the projections remain, the Lib+NDP have more than the 170 needed for majority and the PC can sit on their hands for the next 4 or 5 years.
This is a disaster for Canadians but just as planned by TPTB

They've been sitting at 158 for the past hour, with all 338 ridings reporting. They'd have to get like 75% of the remaining votes to win a majority at this point. It's not possible.

They will try to form a coalition with the NDP -- but consider how LITTLE they did when they had a majority. They will do significantly LESS when they have to negotiate with another party.

It will fall apart within 2 years and we'll be back at the polls.

Except that the resource rich provinces of the Mid to West, are not Liberal wins, and they don't have the mandates they need.

Its going to be very interesting and its a better situation by far than liberal majority.

With zero seats I would say thats a yes thank the gods.

Yet not a total surprise given that Liberal candidates have a history of being re-elected despite their incompetence, mismanagement and corruption.

Of course, you're hard pressed to find anybody who actually likes Trudeau. But traditionally the Liberals are very popular in Canada across generations.

Still, right now the Conservatives have a majority of the vote (34% to 33%), while carrying less seats, which reminds me of what happened to Hillary.

Well, here's to another term of feminist, climate-change superhero Justin Trudeau. Here's to more taxes and a higher cost of living. Here's to increased migration and tougher gun laws. Here's to further embarrassment on the world stage.

This is the worst possible outcome for the election.

Not only do we have the Liberal party in power, but now they will have to pander to the ultra-leftist party, the NDP in order to pass any legislation.

Scheer was not a good choice, he has the public appeal of a tub of cottage cheese. Trudeau has made some serious tactical errors and lost seats for it, but he's at least charismatic.

A majority government would have been even worse. If things stay the way they are, the Bloc will hold the balance of power, and they will not throw their support behind anyone, they will support on an issue by issue basis. And that will be based on what's good for Quebec first. That's a recipe for another election soon. NDP lost their momentum when they said they would prop up a liberal government to keep conservatives out. Currently NDP only elected in 15, leading in 9. A few of those are too close to call. This is a big loss for NDP. Jagmeet isn't having a cake walk for his seat. He's only leading the conservative by 5% and less than half of the polls have reported.

They could have won if they didn't buy the nomination out from under Maxime Bernier. The dairy lobby is powerful.

It's suicide at this point for the NDP to unconditionally supporting the Liberals. They are pretty stupid, but not that stupid.
