Some kindness and positive thoughts requested

20 years ago I was a young Mom consumed in the disease of Alcoholism. I could not stop drinking daily, although every morning I would wake up with resolve not to. By noon, I was dreaming about my next drink. My husband threatened to take the kids and leave me. I was desperate. I knew I loved my husband and children but I sold my soul to alcohol. It was my lower spirit and consumed me with depression and suicidality.

One day I begged God to help me help myself. I hated who I had become. I was working full time but drank as soon as I went home til bedtime. The Hangovers were debilitating.

My white light moment was when I called AA phone hotline. I went to a meeting and met some women who told me they could help me. I never left. They understood me better than I understood myself.

Today, my life is so wonderful. Yes bad things happen, death, disease, children with addiction issues, financial woes....but I gained a belief than when I call on God, He shows up and makes everything easier....When I feel far from God, who moved? Not Him, I do. I get distracted. Today I want for my basic needs to be met and those I love around me. Nothing more than that. I pray every day throughout the day especially thanking God for the small miracles in my life everyday.

I have gotten a Bachelor and Masters degree in sobriety. I have been a wonderful mom to my children since the day I put down the alcohol. My husband and I are in love and are celebrating 37 years together. God is good. Life is good. I ride the wave of ups and downs in life but if I stay close to my God, I will always be protected, cared for and happy. God bless you all....

Sometimes life throws us some truly nasty curve balls, that make us doubt about how we ever get out of that situation. Life at times plain sucks, lasting longer for one than the other. Personal doom. Heartaches, grief, illness, financial troubles. Most of us know them and experience them at times. Making it difficult to find a light at the end of the tunnel.

One of the many dear friends I met on here a few years ago, is going through this situation. I do not want to share any details, for her own protection, but she can use confirmation that there is a future past this present.

I am not asking for money or anything like that, but all I ask of you is to share some kindness, encouraging, motivational, loving words, prayers and thoughts, to show her and her family that she is not alone and that even at the most challenging times we find each other in the darkest dark. Through that we find belief back, in ourselves, in life, in others. It encourages us to never give up.

Maybe you find yourself in a similar situation right now. Then please by all means, know that these words posted by others also apply to you. We are many and through that we find hope, belief, encouragement and determination to go on.

We are no quitters, we struggle and always come out back on top, even if it takes a while. You are not alone. I will be glad to listen and try to motivate and encourage you and convince you that life will be better again.

Agreeing with those prayers, Father we lift up Newton's Own to you and ask for healing throughout his body, and comfort and grace to him Father as he faces this illness. Lord you say whenever two or more are gathered in Your name, you will hear our prayers and answer them. We are united in our prayers that he be healed in Jesus name.
