It's extremely faint, around magnitude 16, but with my CCD and adaptive optics unit I was able to get a grayscale image of the comet and its tail. Here's the stacked image aligned on the comet, using sigma clipping which removed the star trails and just left the comet in the image: |

(OP) Senior Forum Moderator 11/01/2019 11:26 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I haven't measured the coordinates of it astrometrically yet, but if I collect more observations later this month I can compare my results and see if there are noticeable amounts of non-gravitational acceleration. This one is clearly a comet, so I would expect it to exhibit that due to outgassing. The previous was one was not so obvious and much more... mysterious. |

Will it survive it or break up as Ison did? I find it strange that it being only the second interestelar comet ever seen in human history there is not much more public interest on it as there was with Ison. I remember Ison's perihelion being shown in various live transmissions. Why such little beeing shown this time? Where is your telescope now Astro? We need it. |
