Deputy and suspect/patient fought for service weapon. Deputy shot , suspect dead.

The sheriff’s deputy was transporting a jail inmate in the ER and a scuffle ensued, Police Chief Gina Hawkins said. The inmate was able to take the deputy’s gun and shoot him. A Fayetteville Police Department detective was in the hospital on another matter, drew his gun and shot the suspect, according to the chief.
