Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77981966 No one up here calls it anything but deer steak. Guess you'd have to be a hunter to know that. I don't think I know a single guy that calls dear steak venison. confirmed. called it deer meat my entire life. ground, butterflied, steaked, roasts. doesn't matter. all deer meat. |

We had venison roast (deer roast) a couple days ago. Infuse the roast with cloves of garlic and put it in the slow cooker with bacon, onions, carrots and potatoes. Yum. |

YUM!!! I went hunting yesterday, but all we saw were a few squirrels. :/ My BF loves squirrel, but I have not acquired that taste yet (well, I have only had it fried...I bet it would be wonderful in a soup or stew!) |

It came out very tender and tasty. Quoting: Wild Edibles I got an "Instapot" for Christmas last year. I first use the saute function, and then pressure cook it. The meat comes out juicy and soft. It is off the charts YUMMERS! |

Sounds good, and good for you taking up hunting with your BF. Squirrel is good - roast them in the oven like you do rabbit - put them in the dish, cover with strips of bacon, add carrots, potatoes and onions and a little water and balsamic vinegar. |

It is not like the grill smoke will enhance the flavor. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 77017548 Why not just put that wrapped in the oven. Just seem silly. In the video I explained that we don’t have an oven on our little homestead. I have to use my grill as an oven. My bad, volume was low and I only heard a few words. Now post a video of how you cook the rest. That tenderloin is the easy one. It is the other part of the deer that is hard to cook right and not get tough. I always just cut them in small finger pieces and fry. Sure would like to know other ways. Guess I will have to try your way. Marinade (24-48 hours) and pressure cook. |

Have you used the hide for anything? So much you are not saying, Says a lot tbh. |
