There seems to be some confusion.

Supposedly an explosion at Damascus Airport happened first. Syria claimed that it was an attack from Israel Mr Hermon (actually an ISIS stronghold area).

Now, no confirmations of explosions at Damascus Airport.

But Iranian Forces in Syria fired at Israel.

If Iran is involved with anything that's going on, accurate info might be delayed due to the fact that Iran has had 95% of all internet connectivity shut down purposefully by their government due to the protesting going on. It has been that way for about 2.5 days now. The latest post about it that I could find was from 7 hours ago.

The significance is that Iran hasn't fired on Israel directly until NOW.

It's been PIJ a Palestinian "terrorist" group out of Gaza. And Hamas (Palestine GOVERNMENT) recently (yesterday) joined them. Iran today said they would join the cause against Israel. So this is moving rather quickly.

over 500 missiles have been fired into Israel in the past few days from Gaza.

207 were intercepted by Iron Dome, others fell in non-populated areas.

Israel is under attack by terrorists until now, when Iran attacked. (possibly).

The firing of rockets into the Golan is not a response to the strikes on Damascus. It was a response to a security event known by Israel & Syria in Hamah, happened in the last 36 hours.
