Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78021633 A little history.... We had a tornado last year causing damage to our rental unit. The landlord has been horrible about repairing unit over the last 13 months despite my consistent rent payments. I finally got very angry with them for not dealing with a significant safety hazard that could result in fire. Her response ... she put the house up for sale. Her husband tells me I pissed off the wrong woman. In other words, they are using the house sale to get rid of my family. She owns several units in the same condo group, will sell this one for a profit, and buy another one, forcing us out. Anyhow, we found a place to live close to our current home so fortunately, my kids won't need to switch schools mid term. However, to grab this home at a price I could afford, I now need to pay rent on both units over the next two months. As you can imagine, I am pissed with this landlord so I want to toy with her a little. In Canada, we can send what is called an e-transfer. Money arrives and is deposited instantly through email. I am going to send her $25/day. With the last month's rent already paid, this will clear the rent due by the end of the 60 day notice period. With this email there is a pass phrase and a pass word. for example: pass phrase: I am The Gr _ _ _ _ ! pass word: inch I am going to select a new pass phrase/word every day I send her $25. Please, give me a bunch of pass phrase/word combinations. Select combinations where the pass word is easy to guess. I don't want to have to tell her the pass word each time. I hope your land lord kicks you to the curb you dumb fuck. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 78021633 Canada 12/01/2019 10:35 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Not really. Owning a house for many leaves them "house poor". Most owners have less disposable income than renters. If the renter invests that disposable income rather than spending it, he will come out ahead. The great risk for a home owner is poor investment diversification. As long as house prices are going up, all is well, but the moment house prices stagnate or fall, the homeowner is losing. Since they are "house poor", all of their money is in their house. The renter who simply spends his disposable cash, however, is the greatest loser. |

Anonymous Coward (OP) User ID: 78021633 Canada 12/01/2019 10:55 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | If you buy a house say 40tho for 40 years, the payments are only about 250 a month Quoting: Domains 76319445 Sure, you can do that. However, if you do you will have paid interest that exceeds the original mortgage principle. If you now invest your disposable income which you will have more of given the lower mortgage payments, you are simply investing borrowed money, in a sense. This is a good strategy when stock market and house market is strong, but very dangerous when one or both markets are weak. For the average individual, homeownership shouldn't be about building equity since what you pay in property tax, maintenance, and mortgage interest, tends to be greater than average growth in the house price. Homeownership should be more about you capacity to control your environment. Renting is a pain since the landlord has a lot of power, and can often just turf you out as our landlord is doing now. This throws life upside down and can harm the kids. We were lucky to find a home within our children's school boundary otherwise they would have been shifted to a new school some time in February or March. |
