Love or hate them, electric cars are on the way. GM Launching $2.3 Billion Battery Joint Venture In Ohio With LG Chem Ahead Of Its Big EV Push
General Motors CEO Mary Barra today announced a 50-50 joint venture with South Korea’s LG Chem valued at $2.3 billion to produce lithium-ion battery cells in Ohio. The plant will be located in Lordstown, near the recently shuttered Cruze assembly plant.

The new facility will supply batteries for several upcoming GM battery electric vehicles, including a pickup truck that goes into production in late 2021.

Toyota, GM and several other car manufacturers are investing billions in EVs to be announce next year.

I don't think that Lithium batteries are the wave of the future. Too many problems. Besides, just think of a country full of electric cars. One flip of the switch by govt entities and every one of them goes dead.
