Choirs are no longer welcome to sing Christmas songs to the wards of a hospital in Finland: "Disturb equality of different religions"

The choirs will no longer be allowed to sing Christmas songs at the wards of the Satasairaala Hospital in Pori, Finland. The reason is that some of the patients have complained about the choral visits and found them disturbing.

According to Ermo Haavisto, director of Satakunta Hospital District, some patients have felt that they had to listen to the song unintentionally.

"It has emerged that some people find the performance of these spiritual songs by the choir disturbed," says Haavisto.
