About 7 yrs ago, a meteorite exploded near Coloma in foothills East of Sacramento. I was living in El Dorado Hills at the time. The windows of my house rattled and thought it was just a sonic boom from a military jet flying over the Sierra's.

It started a new "gold rush" in search for fragments of the meteorite. They are worth more than their weight in gold.
