Is the encasement that strong to keep anything from getting out? Quoting: Billy Ringo There are times when I even feel a pulse in my head as it cooks. Anyone offer a perspective on this? learn to us the oven and warm stuff on LOW LOW! instead of rushing things |

Just like the infrared radiation emitted by hot things but more concentrated and intense. Microwave radiation is the same frequency as Wifi, but wifi routers actually expose you to much more radiation because the broadcast all throughout the area. So if you have wifi signals near you, it’s more radiation than turning on the microwave all the time. A properly functioning microwave is a faraday cage, which means that no significant amount t of EM radiation gets out. As long as you don’t turn it on with the door open, you’re good! Related to the physical wavelength produced by he magnetron. Visible light will pass but the specific frequency of the magnetron will not due to the physics of rf impedance (I.E."a Quarter wavelength back from a short (circuit) is an open (circuit)"). So if it is designed correctly(and Underwriters labs certifies they are ) the door screen keeps all the microwaves inside.. As long as the wave guides are not damaged (their dimensions are also critical). The microwaves are contained within.. "Wave guides" are proven 1950's era technology developed for high power radar sets. Still Used today where high power microwaves are moved from transmitter to antenna. *****WARNING**** Do not poke around the electronics inside: The magnetron requires a very simple, yet very high voltage circuit. The beer can(sized) capacitor can hold that high voltage charge(even if the oven is turned off and unplugged) |

Meaning, everything you cook in it might as well be popcorn. When my mom was in her late 40's to early 50's, she was constantly getting super sick all the time. Then after playing fallout a few times and realizing, "radiation is cumulative", I became a microwave nazi and constantly, but politely, advocated for throwing it out. Eventually she agreed. It was a big transition, but both of our health improved dramatically. She is in her 60's and more healthy then when she was in her 40's. |

Ricky, maybe try putting your head in one, and set it for sandwich. Tell me what you think. |

I never used them except to melt cheese sandwiches in a factory break room (Allis Chalmers) way back in the mid seventies. The ones we use at work now don't look that old, but it bothers me when they growl, although I suppose it's only the turning mechanism. I gave up trying to be as healthy as possible years ago. It was too expensive to try to eat all organic and natural foods, with no preservatives, hydrogynated oils, etc. I still avoid the worst health violators and I include those infernal inventions, but I try not to worry about being around the things, using them all day long at work. |
