I think I had this horrible bioweapon when it first came out in late Jan. because I was in contact with many international travellers. Thankfully I'm not doing that job anymore. That damned thing nearly killed me.

So now I am in a more chill kind of job but 2 or 3 days a week alternating I deal with people. I'm wearing a mask and it is only a FEW people--I am talking 2 or 3 max. Thankfully I work from home most of the time.

The week of 10/9 one of my peeps is under the weather. It's "strep throat." So I'm like "Shit I hate that." But whatever.

So fast forward to today. I have been through hell and back. Have not really mentioned it here. I've been in a sort of denial. I just sucked it up and medicated myself with fresh chicken soup and zinc, LOADS of chamomile and ginger tea. Vitamins up the wazoo.

But I have had a killer headache. Body hurting like a Zombie Horde beat me with posts and bit me in multiple locations. No fever, not cough, no short of breath feeling. But a sore throat and ears plugged so badly I could barely hear.

I just sat it out and now I am coming out of it. Holy shit. This was probably round 2. It was not nice but I pulled through last Feb. and this too. I just hunkered down and said I was sick. Worked from home 2 extra days. No tests or proof yet, but I am beginning to recognize this bitch and it felt just like last time. It was revenge of covid.

Luckily I'm type O. I have kicked dirt into this bitch's ears once again and I am telling you it is NOT nice. I can say today, I am on the mend. No body pain, not exhausted like a mummy brought back to life. I feel like me again. Whew.

while i was on my way to tighten stocks, i was thinking of how many houses i pased. now not all are working,etc but enuf are just normal everyday ppl. enuf ppl that i worry more of power going off, than the ppl themself.

i can see how quickly the bumms close to town would go off and raid the food stores. they could raid several in an hour. but the smaller towns i do think have a chance.

hard part would b once food runs low. won't b helping neighbors when nobody has any food. these towns might lock down and not let outsiders thru.

just hard to think how the population could drop far. that being said- maybe 10% outside town have wood heat.

other than losing power,i can't see full anarchy happening to the rural areas quickly. would take several mths of no word and no help from govern. city sure can go ful;l mad max quick. once the bums raid the stores, everyone else has a choice,fight or die/starve.

Rhode Island has been selected as one of four pilot states for the possible vaccines. Quick update on what I believe may be part of the roll out pilot program, based on local observation.

I drove through a CVS parking lot (for people outside the region, CVS is a large chain pharmacy/convenience store; they’re nearly omnipresent in the northeast and other regions). CVS has several drive-through lanes behind the building for drive-through prescription pickup, and, in recent months, one exclusively for scheduled COVID testing as well.

On the side of the building was a newly delivered, seemingly mobile/portable structure. Two doors on the structure (one clearly marked “enter”), but the structure is not much larger than might support an interaction between two people. I am thinking these are part of the pilot program fro vaccine distribution. While this is interesting on several levels, I found it most notable that these appear to be self-contained structures (self standing, no apparent link to the main building itself). Second, while CVS for many years has distributed flu shots (and other vaccines I believe) by appointment within the store. At this particular location, there are two nursing station offices where these standard vaccines are administered, and I believe they do some other minor medical triage within as well (blood pressure, quick diagnosis of common ailments). However it looks like these little stations, outside the building, will likely be where the COVID vaccines are administered.

I could be mis-reading what this new structure is, but I don’t think I am. Pics if I can get there again in the days ahead.

What I’ve read seems like they’re planning on some triage, and conducting even the pilot in phases. If the first phase is for vulnerable populations, I suppose I can understand the thinking behind keeping this outside the main building itself. Just conjecture but makes a bit of sense—since many of the 65+ population I know are not currently going inside stores, maybe this makes a lot of sense.

Also, given the apparent requirements for temperature, I guess it makes sense that these be administered through clearing houses where the support infrastructure will be based...

...and why not? So much of our population is used to going there for vaccines and whatnot already...reinforces existing (albeit nascent) societal norms.

HNRY make sure to watch for mice in the storage. also, if u store water,store in plastuic bags and buckets. thios way if it does freeze and bust the bottle,u can salvage the water.plus it saves a mess later depending what is stored.

went to check my stocks and tighten some today.added some moth balls too.
