Yes that was a weird response, I thought someone was happy to see information about Hong Kong. Especially with trump talking about Hong Kong and China, a lot going on.

Maybe others cannot reply? I for one like to see easily accessible information on Covid. Seems most posters are doing ok and not freaking out, just gathering facts and forming opinions for life changing circumstances. What is wrong with that?

I agree posts about Covid and the greatest threat to our modern day society, should be upmost importance. Maybe some posters care about information to help their household. Could be life and death situation.

Your data helped me get to the numbers being useless. And hospital numbers....are they going to start counting folks for longterm issues that end up back and hospitals? I hardly talk about numbers outside of Europe and America partly because of that reason, can't say anything about numbers I don't understand. There are some that are clearly lying others that I have doubts about.

There are generally two metrics that get published about hospitals.
Ever Hospitalized - The number of Unique cases that have ever been admitted to a hospital would exclude re-admitted and in some states is off by a significant but constant factor.
Currently Hospitalized - The number of people currently in the hospital due to COVID-19 (due to COVID-19 is vague and applied differently).

Of those hospitalized a ~20% of the younger demographic and ~40% of the older demographic end up in the ICU and when they get out a good rule of thumb is to count 4 days of rehab per day on the ICU as far as I have read, this will shift with age. Tarnished should know more about this then me.

There are not that many studies regarding discharged patients but the few I have seen do indicate that if hospitals get stressed capacity wise and discharging quickly it will have bad results.

Beyond that I do want to stress that there is a bias in current research where bad outcomes are amplified. It's a lot easier to observe patients that are in the hospital and it's a lot easier to find hidden problems in the deceased. Extrapolating those results would be a possible worst case scenario, it's possible but not a valid conclusion to make based on the data. Neither true nor false for the time being.
