It took me over half an hour to make the two min walk to the pump house and back the other day in near 4ft of snow. It was exhausting, you have to stop and rest every 5 steps. No time to get sick, no way to get help. |

Record heat is the supply of power to the demand for power by the production of record snow falls. "January 3 is the third day of the year in the Gregorian calendar. 362 days remain until the end of the year (363 in leap years). Perihelion, the point during the year when the Earth is closest to the Sun, occurs around this date." As the Earth orbits the sun it wants to break free at this point but can not but tilts towards the Sun. This causes the southern hemisphere to point towards the Sun more than the northern hemisphere which points away from the Sun. The reverse of this point? Anonymous Coward User ID: 50872322 United States 01/19/2020 03:52 PM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I've travelled to Quebec on business a few times during winter months. It wasn't uncommon to bunk down in my hotel for eight hours, and wake up to three or four feet of fresh snow on the ground. I was always impressed by the size and capability of their snow removal equipment, which got things cleaned off in short order. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 50872322 Nice try, but the record snow in Quebec in a 24 hour period is 31 inches. A lot of snow, for sure, but not quite 3 to 4 feet in 8 hours. Thanks for the correction. It was 30 years ago, and my brain flatulence isn't doing me any favors today. It was probably more in the vicinity of one to one-and-a-half feet of fresh snow, which had drifted on top of existing snow, making it seem like it was three to four feet deep. |

Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living. ~ Life is about choices, you get to make them each and every day of your life. ~ Capitalization is the difference between helping your Uncle Jack off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.~ Only in America... do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poloi' in Greek meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.~ “When a government is dependent for money upon the bankers, they and not the government leaders control the nation. This is because the hand that gives is above the hand that takes. Financiers are without patriotism and without decency.” If you're not a liberal at twenty you have no heart, if you're not a conservative at forty you have no brain. Winston Churchill |

It's weird how people try to minimize it. I have NEVER in my lifetime witnessed that much snow in one shot and most likely never will. So yeah, it's not an everyday occurrence. |

It was heavy, wet snow that came down in flakes as big as silver dollar. Life went on as normal because they were used to it in Valdez. It snowed over 450" that winter and workers were earning a lot of money to clear rooftops with snowblowers. The roads through town were tunnels 7' deep and a drive inn was opened with the movie projected against a snowbank. |

We got some snow flakes today while not anything like they got. Hope we do not get that next Sunday. The most precious things are the simple things in life, always present in the simplest of minds. |

Do you at least check on those who are not digging out after a few days? without disturbing them too much, I would guess some of them would love being snowed in, others might be in trouble. Fuck those motorised noisy fucking snow spitting man machines though. Just as fucking bad as god dam lawn mower noise! They should be made to learn scythes, far more fucking silent, for grass that is.. Other than that...looks cool. and cold. I wouldn't visit that place without a proper wardrobe though, and I seem to have misplaced my tailor... |
