The way I see it, it's only a matter of time before they confirm the first cases/deaths in New York State.

Steps countries appear to be taking:
1- deny
2- obscure
3- underreaction
4- containment measures
5- ?

I believe most US states are somewhere between phases 1 and 3.

Trying to prevent panic within the public. That part at least makes sense..

Oh yes!! I did hear that. I was taking it to mean a reported case in the city. Sorry. I’m on Long Island. Scary but not much to do about it. Have to go to work etc.

I have friends and family there, I grew up there and know the area well; how the Peace bridge crosses you over from Canada and you can follow Niagara river to the "Tonwandas" or go to Buffalo. This makes some sense as we hear Chinese are escaping when they can and of course want to come to the U.S. thru Canada
